Mad Jack

Mad Jack

Jack, There is certainly a trend towards lack of respect for people and rules in our world today. Structure is very necessary!! People like you that have the visions and do the work to build and maintain a site like yours are trusted to continue to make these decisions based on the future good of this site.

1) Please remember that this is a very stressful time of year for most people.
2) Most disputes between friends and family are soon forgotten.
3) Most divorces do not happen on the first try!
4) Most promises that bear the statement "Till death do us part" are very temporary!!

My suggestion is a cooling off period that allows people on both sides of the fence to realize what is lost or gained, and then another chance.

In closing I'll state that there is a bright side to this whole affair!! I am very impressed that most of the posters here that chose not to give out their personal info in their bio, are indeed DOCTORS and LAWYERS. Professional advice is considered more valuable than a posters opinion. LOL!!

I proudly do business with at least two of your sponsors everyday!!

Keep it Positive, Topdog

first let get this straight Jack did not ban him , he choose to leave. When you send people emails telling them you are going to hurt their business which he could not then he should of been banned but Jack did not boot him he choose to leave, I thought he was a ok guy don't read a lot of stuff have other things to do but you don't email the owner of a business and tell him how to run it and threaten him, that will get you no where.

This is the best site on the board for handicapping I know them all and know what they have for cappers 1 other site comes close to the good handicappers that are here and that form is not near the size of this one nor do they want to be it is a privite form.

jack was more then fair by not banning him for the threats hell i said it a few weeks ago when we had a member of our family have his son be put on a vent that life is to short to let this stuff get to you, jack had been battered and battered frogy so it is about time the whole thing was told. you can only push a person to far and try to make them look like the bad guy and they are going to tell the whole story then. but he was not banned by Jack he chosse to go and for one that goes and i for one thought he was a good capper 10 more want through the door. Now lets drop it and move on . he was not banned he left.

Hey BhB where the hell is that busy marketing person another 2 months gone buy since the famous we will get intouch with you next week:nono: for get it don't need you help no would i say 1 good thing about your book. My friend Justin.

As I read down the responses, I see posters with 6000 to 550 posts. My lowely post count doesn't swing a lot of weight with you guys because you don't know me very well--but I know you from reading your posts for a couple of years before I joined.

And outside of a few guys that just like to cause trouble, 95% of you come come to the site to share information so we can all beat the "man".

Horns has provided us with plenty of information and the amunition needed to do just that several times.

But just because my dear mother-in-law made the best chicken and dressing for the Holidays, doesn't mean I can't do without it if she decides she doesn't want to make it anymore.

If she starts to complain and bitch about things--I just stay away. Don't go near her.

Sometimes you have to sacrifice one for the good of all the rest.

I'm surprised he even has time to handicap, what with juggling his careers as a doctor and lawyer.

FWIW, I think you made the right call Jack. As always, there is a 2nd side to a story, I'm glad you chose to share it with us. It's surprising that someone who posts as a pretty nice guy had a problem with so many people. Like all of us, ignore them.

Keep up the good work MJ

That about sums it up right there. The only thing I would add is that just maybe some people are given a little too much rope too often. Some people who obviously add nothing but trouble are let loose to roam around, then again I am sure Jack does not have time to read every post so it's a tough call.

Eithe way I agree with Saint on this one, it is nice to see the other side of the story, thanks for that Jack.

Defamation of character

Defamation of character

I am not a lawyer. (In fact, I am a simple caveman). But for a "defamation of character" suit to hold any ground I thought you had to hold some type of celebrity status; you must be a somewhat well known public figure. Don't think nd2003horns is a household name.

wow!!!---didn't know this has gone this far.

there isn't much more to add to what has already been stated. so i will try to be brief.

i find that some people take this posting world much too serious for their own good. this is just a forum where people can come to forget what is happening in the real world ( like the yankees letting pettite go) & interact with people who have common interests. except for a few instances, we don't really know the ages or backgrounds of many of the posters with which we are communicating with. and because of this,a poster should not be thinned skin & get upset with a negative comment directed at him. imo getting into a bashing contest is stupid & useless.

i have had breakfast with horns since he has moved to scottsdale & i have exchanged e-mails with him at least once a week since the football season started. i always found him to be very personable & i got to like him. but i must say that i am completely surprised by what jack has posted about horns behavior & actions towards him & the forum.

i met jack at last years superbowl weekend & have also exchanged e-mails with him a few times. i have always found jack willing to help me with my dealings with the books & i think he is a top notch person.

the bottom line to this situation is that this is jack's forum & his livlihood. he has people who rely on him. nobody should threaten to hurt that.

i have stated many times that i think that this is the best run forum on the internet & the main reason for this is because of jack's iron rule.this is the only way to run a forum.

now i have to get back to the real life & wonder why the yankees comitted such a major blunder!!

never

had a problem with the guy..of course, didn`t have alot of interaction with him,either... ..actually,never had a problem with pretty much anybody on here....and that`s what makes this place a real pleasure to peruse....

i`ve been involved with other forums and i have to say, this one`s about as mature and knowledgable as they come...

sort of surprised that horns got so uptight.....it`s a gaming forum....it`s loose....but,civil....maybe horns took it all to seriously...

On the course!
I had no idea that all that "behind the scenes" shit was going on. Perhaps Jack can do like VH1 and have a "Behind The Capping" documentary? Or like ESPN......"Outside The (Betting)Lines". Or perhaps Fox's Beyond The Glory could do a "Where's My Glory"?

I can appreciate Horns getting pissed over any shit he might take. Hey....the guy posts his plays and his record, and does okay. Was edludes out of line? Well, he's a bag of shit 9 outta 10 posts, so you do the math. You don't come into another guys thread and boast about your "win" when he just lost. That's piss poor judgement at best, and plain shitty on the other hand.

I just can't see telling Jack who can stay, and who should go. I'll admit, I have questioned Jack in the past about certain posters, and why they are still here, but I never said "Them or me". Shit, no one is that fuking big around here.

I prefer to look at the positive side of this Andy Petitte deal. It's Houston's GAIN!! Who said you can't go home again?? This deal is far more about FAMILY and the quality of life near home than about MONEY and even WINNING. What a nice thought to hear of a sports star making a decision based on something other than SELF Promotion and Money.

Andy is indeed a rare find and a CLASS guy....and a great pitcher. We are vey happy to have him back in our fine city!!

Well first off it is interesting to see that ND had a problem with me, but all I can say is we had a dissagreement several months ago-that must me what Jack is posting about-but I thought Nd was over that-it was no big deal......Lets put it this way--all sorts of people shoot at the Worm thing all the time-Hoops, YYZ, Taoist are among the people who trade barbs with me--but I can take it, and I certainly dont want these guys kicked out..I think maybe ND is a little too thin skinned. And if anyone can say that its me because people pick on the Worm persona every day--I laugh it of 99% of the time-he should have too. I try to help people win $$ thats it---most everyone else is trying to do the same--goodbye to anyone who cant laugh this off.

Someone in this thread said mortgages and big money are riding on this and we should not stand for this sh*t-he is right also-but there are a lot of recreational gambler along with serious gamblers who should take all this with a grain of Salt--let the guys who are ruining go and the guys who are serious And having fun stay and handicap--I know if a guy was a sour-puss and ruining or threatening to ruin my business I would cut him off........

Well stay or go I don't know. The Guy had great hockey knowledge and was a great person to have in the box. Personally I could not give a shit what anyone was to say about my picks as long as the info was right. May be Horns was being sent messages on the side from one of these guys. All I know is he will be missed and added a great deal to the Hockey forum. May be some guys take it more serios then others who knows.

Jack- I can understand your lament as I know it's kind of similar as to why you started this site in the first place. You see, I remember when we all posted on the AOL Post Your Picks board a long time ago- I remember when you got banned for some BS reason, lost all your favorite folders and info from your AOL account. I know this is why you will always have a struggle with the banning issue.
