i tend to agree with you that nothing will be done...but i don't want to have the same kind state taxes & state gov't. that california has....& that will happen if the immigration problem is not brought under some type of control.

your state's economy will grind to a halt if you put in strict controls. the jobs will just go to any of your neighboring states and the illegals will sniff them out and leave arizona with a bunch of work nobody will be willing to do.

agriculture, restaurants, janitorial, the list goes on and on. you are best to leave as is if interested in keeping your investment values high.

Smurph I agree on no one taking hard stance on immigration--however think reason is clearly political suicide--Hispanics are largest growing part of population--If either party took hard stance and the other took the other road--elections would be predetermined.

I like how Canada handles migrant workers from mexico--They fly them there--house them and when seasons is over- fly them back--too simple for us I guess.

DTB - I know you dont want to model the US economically after Canada. ...How expensive would that be to provide transportation for 10 million (and growing) illegals? The current scenario works beautifully for government and business ....not necessarily so well for others, but they don't matter.

I don't think it's political - I think it's entirely economy/growth. It's popular to argue the political motivation, but I don't think it's what drives the immigration.

I think Smurph a week or so ago said something under a drunken binge about Texas in another thread. Im starting to think what he said was right.

Actually, I wouldn't mind seeing Dick Cheney run for president. Even if the democrats put up an Barney Frank/ O.J. Simpson ticket, I don't think Cheney would have a chance.

Cheney/McCain.....never
Frank/Simpson......forever.

I think you are onto something, former dad (I've been adopted by AR due to proximity and hot step-mom). I don't think Cheney's 17% approval rating will do well in the battleground states. ...Plus, his devil horns are actually starting to show through - that might offend some of the more reasonable Christians.

Saul works - so that's final.

Portfolio not so good. After some beginners luck, I hit hard times. I'm educating myself now though. Bought a couple books and am humbly going through the process of learning the market.

Perhaps this is a test of you as much as me. A good parent is patient and supportive. If you are only in this for the glory, then I may as well see if Eddie will take me back.

I'm not taking him back. Biblically, I'm changing his name from Saul to Able (as in Cain and...). You Benedict Arnold, you.

Thats okay, I like Sponge better.

I choose California, where there are even more babes and the summers are liveable.....and where I'm closer to AZ. I've never been to Cincinnatti - only know it form WKRP and Rainman.

Your right, Pops - we've been through life's rollercoaster. ....That's why I don't understand the need to see the portfolio. I mean, is that all I am to you - just an investment on a peice of paper? I'm going to have to educate you on the art of the Irish, so you can be a little less Jewish. Value is not measured by P/E ratio or 'moving average'. ...Support is in the soul, not a line on the chart that tells to buy.

Hey, we had some good times. You did give me my name - and that lasts forever. I think your hatred of Jesus was eventually just too much for me to handle.

Sponge will be a project. It's probably best I leave since he will obviously take up much more time and maintenance than I.

I'd be careful with that guy - he can't hold his liquor. I can see it now - Mom has some hot friends over for Murray K to meet and perhaps find a love connection. But he starts saucin up too much of that VO shit and next thing you know he can't be "steadied". ....Don't even get me started on the tobacco problem. How would you like every cup, glass, or other recepticle in your house to be filled with brown smelly goo that just spent the last hour in his mouth?

murray promised me that he would stop chewing on that brown stuff & instead use a substitute (didn't tell me what he would do)...
