Without looking at any stats etc......Davidson could give Marquette some fits. I was not impressed with Marquette AT ALL vs ND! They are small and gave up some huge runs to ND throughout the game! Davidson is solid..has depth..and is experienced!
Also....Pacific's coach is retiring this year after 25 years in the biz!! Not saying they will beat Miami, but sure they'll get DD's and could play them tough!
The stiffs on ESPN all loved Minnesota over UCLA....FYI!!

I think the MWC will show up well in the tournament and will be watching how Boise performs in the play-in game to either double-down on that thought or re-think.
Would love to see DUke lose in the first round again but, that is not a good match-up. Also taking a look at Western Kentucky versus Kansas...I will be at that game and am trying to talk myself into the first win for a #16...maybe at least a 1H cover.

Kansas should roll IMO! Bill Self is an absolute motivating MACHINE as a coach and will have this team prepared for a run! I expect them to go deep......

Looking at Bucknell if getting 10 1/2 or more pts first round vs Butler, they are a joke!! Lost to ST Louie 3 times, Bucknell matches up well and has the big kid in the middle!!
Terrible matchup for Akron without their point guard. Starting a freshman against guards with the quickest hands anywhere. These two played to overtime last year.

Jord, my thinking on this is A10, Butler, A10 conference rated much ahead of Patriot Conference, Butler neutral site numbers much stronger than Bucknell, I have Butler winning by 10, but I just feel Bucknell is going to thrive on the dog role much like they did a few years back in first round vs Kansas and gave the Jayhawks all they could handle.
There's my view on that line, power ranking numbers from Sag and other ranking indexes show 3 to 4 pt edge to Butler. More to it than just those numbers.

I'd be very leary looking at VCU a 5 seed, vs Akron a 12 seed, 12's over 5's, 11's over 6's last 3 years, ats the favorites are 37% first round. VCU last 10 games not very good, Akron even without their lead PG, has played very respectable and took it to a once thought of NCAA hopeful tourney team in Ohio very easily on Saturday.
Just a lil food for thought, much much more can happen between today and game time as we all know.
