I will say it now, not going out on any big limb: Illinois will certainly finish next season ranked higher than Kansas....assuming Villaneuve doesn't go straight to the NBA out of high school.

Monk is right also. Its never easy following a legend. Just ask Matt Daugherty about that.

The Jayhawk job is a hard one to fill.

1. You are following a ledgend

2. Expcetations are high following a successful season

3. No AD-bigger problem than you may think. Ad's love to hire their own guys.

4. History


With no AD, I would think that they would look to an assistant of Roys to "hold" the program. This would also help retain players (keeping same system). I am not close to the situation, does anyone know of a canidate in the program that could fill the void?
