Hey! You once mentioned, in a thread I began as a matter of fact, that you have the secret to beating this on-line game. I gotta tell you, I've played live so many times since and come out a winner most times. But, whenever I get the itch to play on-line, in the comfort of my own home, I never never never win!

I've suffered enough; what's the secret?????

secret is math........play tight unless you are in last position....position is huge in online holdem cuz of the callers.....i almost will play any hand on the button or next to it in some of these loose/passive games....

its not so much playing "tight" as it is playing "right"
HONUS, you play a lot, so I am sure you are familiar with the terms pot odds and drawing odds, etc etc.
those are CRUCIAL to the online game.
Why?
Because you have the time to sit patiently and wait for your moments. I flip on the tube, eat dinner, **** arounda bit just waiting for the premium hands or the drawing hands in the right position.

*remember* when you are in mid position and have a "possibly playable" hand, you are not going to lose any money if you fold out.

discipline is KEY! get a ring game goin, and just sit back and relax, dont try and bully people around, it dont work in online.

Keep notes on players... especially the fish! table selection is key as well.
check the flop percentages on the lobby... the higher teh better fora tight player.

I prefer omaha online. its soooooo ****ing easy. just sit back and wait for your A-2 hands and pick off half the pot here and there. it keeps you afloat/maybe even ahead so you can wait it out for the premo hands that are gonna scoop for you.

would right more or even in a more logiclal manner but i am in a decent hold em game right now and playing on a lap top in a hotel room in PA... (yes i need the money this week that bad!) :)
my wife is gone this week so maybe now that i am settled in and have all sorts of time to kill to xmas i might write somethin up. in the past between her, the soon to be born child, and the two mutts and moving acrosss the world i aint got time for chit.

hand of the night last nite... omaha -8.
flop came 2-2-Q
and there i am holding A-2-2-5 in my hand!
except another guy is RAISING ME! poor bastid had QQ in his hand for Q's full. capped on every street! god bless the lucky bastards!

also to note there HONUS, i know you are a paradise nut...
one thing to reconsider between live and online.

the 3/6 holdem game on paradise is probably the equivalent to a 10/20 game in a casino as far as skill levels go.

so you should be winning at lower limits real time if you are barely hangin in there online.

if you can beat the 3/6 or 5/10 at paradise, go sit yourself down at the 10/20 in teh B&Ms and have a freakin field day

another tip.... do you use isolation moves? a lot of people get caught up in all sorts of fancy play syndrome BS... its crap. if you got it bet it... or if you have a nut at your table, let him bet it for you and CR... but be careful with it!
i prefer to use isolation plays pre flop and on the flop. the turn and river are easy from there.

thanks for the tips. Great advise. I think I'll put them to use during the holidays. I'll let you know how it goes.
