On the course!
Because nobody thinks that they will!

If you play 'Zona, and win, the whole world will tell you, "Big deal."

Sure, the money will spend good, but it ain't gonna be headline news if they win.

On the other hand, if they lose, you will look like an idiot for laying -300 clams for the privlage of saying, "FUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK MEEEEEEEEEEE!"

I remember a -300 game a few nights ago, that had half of this forum crying, and posting what a shitty beat it was that they lost. (Of course, that was before the Yanks came back to win in the last inning.)

Tonight's, "You gotta be jerkin' me off!" play.......

DBacks -300 lose 3-2 as the rest of the team, once again, assumes that RJ can win with no support from their asses.

Don't make this play, people.

YYZ,

I have to agree on not laying big, but I've been waiting for this game for several days. I've been burned too many times by not going with my initial instincts. I'm big into fantasy sports, and when I saw this matchup, I told myself that I would play it. Gotta stay true!

if you put that kinda JACK on a game, you're much better going to bed and waking up to see the result... If you lose, NO WAY you can sleep since you're TOO SICK, if you win, well, you still can't sleep cause your heart is so accelerated... better to sleep and wait.

Lay the chalk, play it small, and don't play games that you think will lose. If you think Pittsburgh will really win (I would LOVE to hear someone explain that one), go for it. If you think Arizona will win, then just take your small payday laying the same amount you normally play and be happy.

thats what i've been waiting for, someone to give me sound reasons why pittsburgh has (value).
i can give quite a few why dbacks have the edge.
like i said do your work ups and forget the line, then when you are done get your line, ifnot most of the time you will have line influence your play.

If you're going to play Pittsburgh, I highly suggest to parlay it with the UNDER. I personally have a parlay on Pittsburgh +280 and the UNDER (7.5 -110) for a total of +625

This goes against a "basic" rule in baseball parlays, which is to never parlay the road team w/ the UNDER. This matchup is an exception.

You see, when a weak team such as Pittsburgh faces a strong pitcher such as Randy Johnson, the best way to win is to allow even less runs than the opponent's top ace. It's a lot easier to think this way. I've checked some stats and the UNDER is 10-6 in Randy Johnson's home losses since he's pitching for the DBacks. Actually, only considering +250 (and over) Road dogs and +200 (and over) Home dogs, the UNDER is a whopping 55-33 when the dog wins, that is since 1997.

In this particular situation, the fewer the total of runs , the better the chances for the dog.

But hey - it's up to you if you don't wanna take these stats seriously... and I know for a fact that few will consider them. I won't come back on the subject btw.

Parlay????? You gotta be mad!

Again....if it hits, you are a hero. But....how you ganna feel if Pitt gets the win and you fked it away by tossing in the under?

Too many games being played the rest of the week to toss money at this game.

Good luck to the people who wagered.

by tossing in the under

What do you mean here you mean that.. if Pittsburgh wins the game, then the O/U is a total toss-up??? Considering the Pittsburgh's *super* offense (sarcasm) AND Randy Johnson?

Come on!! Geese.....

I don't care what happens tonight - this is the kind of bet you can expect to win about 15-20% of the time so yes, I WOULD be lucky of it hits - however I know that parlaying the UNDER w/ Pittsburgh IS the smart play here and 20% (even 15%) is all I need to show a profit long term speaking.

That's what I'm talking about when I mention "adding value" by parlaying. Paralying the side and the total. There's no other way to do it from what I know.

The O/U is 14-26-1 in Pitssburgh's wins so far this year btw.

And if Pittsburgh wins AND the game goes OVER, then I STILL don't regret anything.

This tends to happen quite often yyz (top pitcher getting minimal offensive support).. And quite frankly I can't explain why. Maybe it's just about the ace inspiring the opposite team's pitching staff.

BTW I'd like to appology for the way I responded to your last reply last night. I now realize that it wasn't the most polite way to do it. I've been pretty tired and overstressed lately and this seems to affect my mood... *a bit*.
