This isnt meant to incite, or anger, or start a bunch of name calling, but since Im neither Republican nor Democrat....I have to ask the question, Why another 4 years of Bush. Im from Texas and Im very familiar with "dubya" he did a somewhat decent job as a Governor. I dont like to be associated with a "party" because that whole process is to biased and I dont want to vote for a party I want to vote for a president. It seems like Bush does nothing more then attack Kerry and when one brings up Kerry, the first thing Republicans do is start name calling and deeming one a "liberal"

So before tommorow arrives can anybody supporting Bush please give me your reasoning, not in the form of Kerry bashing or political ideologies, but just on his record and accomplishments. I cant seem to find anything positive in regards to our budget, unemployment, the enviorment, scientific research, social programs, foreign relations and even his strategy on terrorism has stalled in Iraq, yet he has many supporters...what am i missing.....i really want to know because as an independent, I really like to be informed about ones record and accomplishments...what am I missing?

Thanks for your time,

DD

Hey you sound like me as I voted for him last time and he has done little over four years. What I am most upset about is that he had chance right after 9/11 to unite this country but then he destroyed the faith people had built up in him by his nazi style campaigning in the 2002 elections. If you recall this was the election where GW and his cronies called the vast majority of opponents to the Republicans Unpatriotic because they dissented against his views. The guy pissed away a royal chance to unite this country!

Having a degree in economics, I'll state the economic part of the equation. You have to take into account the state of the country when W took over. We were slipping into a recession and if you check your history, it was one of the shorter ones. Things are getting better currently. this is partly due to the war with defense spending, tax credits, received by many in this forum I'm willing to bet, and lower interest rates to spur investment. I feel the policies Kerry has mentioned or his "Plans" will reverse much of the economic gain we are starting to see which could slip us back into a recession. Say goodbye to the recovery. :sadwave:

I agree the country is more divided then at any time i can remember. Dubya did a good job of uniting the parties when he was here in Texas but i have no idea what happened whan he got to Washington...maybe he was in over his head and the cutthroating and hardball played in our nations capital was to much for him to control.

I also agree that the country was heading into a recession when he took over and yes it was for a short time but i also read that even with that being the fact that jobs were lost more in this recession then in any others and the deficit turnaround also rates as the worst in our nations history. Was this inevitable or was it the result of bad tax breaks, an unnecessary war or something else.

When Dubya was in Texas he provided minimal tax breaks to relieve the property tax burden but what it eventually did was contribute to one of the biggest budget deficits in Texas history, over a billion dollars over 2 years. His tax break strategy didnt work at the state level so it didnt surprise me that it didnt work at the national level.

I dont know why anybody would want the job of President especially at a salary of a little over 400,000 a year considering both these guys have more money then they can use. As noted by the anger in this election and the differences and divisions that currently exist..the next president will have alot of work to do in uniting this country and gaining the support of the countries abroad. China has now come out and expressed their discontent for Dubyas polices.

Thanks for the input guys, I was hoping to get a bigger list of accomplishments for Dubya but it doesnt look like its going to happen before tommorrow.

I feel Bush stands for Truth, Justice, and the people. I feel he is more Honorable than Kerry. He is more God fearing than Kerry. He believes God will guide him to lead our nation. I know that statement will be disagreed with but our country is in the shape it is because God has been kicked out of America and Bush wants him back in. NO I am not a religious nut and I don't go to church that much. I do believe in God and I do read the bible and I believe Bush is the right man to lead our country.
