Like your acessment.Ive also pointed out the unusually high number of combined points put up by the teams in the conference, which says to me its a conference built on speed but no D.

maybe texas and t tech should be in one half and then oklahoma and kansas should be in the other. that should take care of both football and bball. one thing is for sure they have it wrong in football. who cares about watching mizz. play in any championship game?

For one they wanted to make sure they played each other every year. Two, it had to be done that way to make any geographis sense. Three, when the Big 12 was created neither Texas nor OU was really any good for anyone to care. Four, there are no divisions in basketball.

The original scheduling was also done with some assumptions about who would be good. Thats why ..primarily Am. Thats why Mizzou and KU had it so easy last year and got raped this year.

Pretty much every conference with divisions had the same sorts of problems. Florida and Tenn for years in football especially. Unless ou make some decision to change it every year and presume who is good I dont know how you resolve it.

For the same reason they don't call it the PAC-1.

Or why doesn't the ACC stands for Another Crappy Conference.

And I agree with Sun, when the Big12 was created Nebraska and KSU were the top teams in the land and CU was solid then as well. All North teams.
