"the bunker"
because the market reacts to speculation....and the worst tanking has taken place since the media anointed "the one"....they know whats coming...

now pelosi and reid have taken bankruptcy off the table for the auto industry...and have refused a renegotiation of the uaw wage and benefit package(what`d i read?..thay average $73 an hour BEFORE BENEFITS!??)....

so nan and harry will throw more money at addressing the symptoms, and nothing toward curing the disease...

it`s gonna get one helluva lot worse before i gets better...

under obama...

That 73 bucks is the works. And do to consessions made last year in 2010 it drops to 61/62. And Remember auto makers like Tyoto/Honda have there government help at all times. And there workers get free health care. Unfair playing field.
Bush ran us right in the ditch with his way or the door. That's the problem not auto makers.

Weas really respect your input to this forum, but to blame O is just crazy.Of course things are gonna get worse before there better.

Peolple are losing there jobs, there homes, and there sanity.I agree with this the market is reacting to the unknown, but not the O.
There also reacting to whats in front of there face(lost jobs, lost equity, lost faith, etc.)

Things will not change overnite, but im willing to bet this administration gives it to us straight(Mostly:mj07: ) and does whats right for the american people, and get this now, also themselves as polaticans will be polaticans.

$73 without benefits OMG

$73 without benefits OMG

OMG another Fox news comment by weasel...You are always telling people to watch differents shows than MSNBC well maybe you need to take your own advice and get off of the Fox channel. The big 3 bailout is NOW the biggest story that they can trash with UNFAIR AND UNBALANCED stories and old facts. The UAW gave up some big concessions and then right after the contract had massive layoffs. The union knows they had to make these concessions for both sides. One other thing the UAW recieved a one time ballon payment of I believe $10 BILLION(not sure about amount) to run the health care for all employees. So that right there knocks about $10-12 off the year old stat of $73 per hour. Not to mention the 2 tier wage concession, pension freeze, 401k match freeze. So as djv mentioned it is probablu below $60.

I am UAW member but at a Japanese transplant and we are struggling to get by on 1 shift right know. We just gave up the same things and a few more to keep the plant alive.

That is what I hate about Fox the UAW takes $73 per hour while other Japanes plants that aren't union is $35. That is an old stat from a year ago and all the Toyota plants are now around $45-49 which they are now even cutting shifts.

Unreal the degree of scum Fox will keep spewing for its own agenda. One other thing Yes the union does protect some shitbags but aren't there shitbags in every workforce?????

If I remember right Bush was on TV begging for this bailout. McCain canceled his campaign so he could go to Washington to vote for it. How does your neocon loving brain figure this is the result of the DEMS? Granted, those idiots followed Bush's lead and voted for it also both sides did.

since this market drop really got going after "the one" was elected, would it be crude for weasel to make a "half-black tuesday joke"?...

yeah, it all started when OBama got elected. The Bush economic meltdown is obviously OBama's fault. Yet another astute observation by gw.

He's going, oh chit only on a trip to Peru. Maybe they can keep him for 60 days. Saw today cnbc and fox yes fox. They must have screwed up. I bet it's gone by now. But two know your stuff guys about economy. Said Jan 20 we can't wait for. Same thing Jim Cramer said tonight. Let Obama start his plan's to help economy early. Jan 20 maybe way to late.
Jabber your Chart does not lie.

Bush has not done a good job but only a partisan can try to lay all the blame at him. Congress has a huge role in this and yet dont seem to be getting any of the blame. The housing issue alone is without question a Dem problem but that gets swept under the rug.

Why dont you show the chart from 2001to present -does W get all the credit for the Dow getting over 14,000 ...of course not...and to say the opposite is just as ridiculous.

I dont think the market is falling because of Obama, but there is fear of him and uncertainty of exactly what he will do and that doesnt help things. He could help things now by saying he wont raise taxes on anyone.

Sure he can have credit. Chart above even shows 13000. All happen after he got help from Who?
No 14000 is not much jump from Clintons 12900. 1100 points in 8 years. And a big dump. Unless big change comes fast leving him about 4000 points below what? Last 4 years bills started coming due from Bush's Spending spree. And now we pay.

Also the percentage of UAW members for the big three of the total employees has been getting lower over the years if you include cars being built outside US and plant closures. Correct me if I am mistaken. Another thing is the Japanese auto companies upper management/ceo probably don't make nearly as much as their US counterparts. Just a guess.

You are correct. Top management 10 X lowest payed guy in company. And in Japan and Germany auto makers are given free health care.

there are many things to blame bush about, but
i also find it amazing that guys like dowd & barney are not getting blamed for the mortgage mess...all one has to do is listen to barney's tape....& people here who don't see it are as partisan as they say gw or dtb are....
