Why did he say it?

The Stanley Cup Finals may be back to where they started, but the New Jersey Devils puckline train is careening forward at an out-of-control pace. Kind of like the Anaheim Mighty Ducks' Michael Eisner's mouth.

The Devils have piled up $600 in this series by cashing in on the puckline in all four games. However, they blew the last two games on the moneyline in Anaheim - along with a 2-0 series lead - prompting Disney big wig Eisner to talk some serious 'quack', as one New York Post headline put it.

"We're going to end it in six," he told reporters after Anaheim's 1-0 overtime win Monday night. "We're going to end it here on Saturday night."

You can bet that declaration will be scrawled on the chalk board in New Jersey's dressing room faster than you can say "shutout".

Christ! Why did he say that? Leave it to someone who knows nothing about the sport to put the kiss of death on the Ducks. I'm sure the Ducks are just THRILLED to hear that statement. What an idiot:nono:

NEW YORK ? Disney Chairman Michael Eisner, an infrequent visitor to the Arrowhead Pond in recent years, finally found his way into the Mighty Duck dressing room after the surprising Ducks reached the Stanley Cup finals.

And now he has crashed the New Jersey Devils' room too.

"I think Mr. Eisner has planned the parade," Devil Coach Pat Burns said during a conference call Tuesday night. "All the players were chuckling about it."

Burns' comments were in reference to quotes attributed to Eisner after the Ducks' 1-0 overtime victory in Game 4 on Monday night evened the best-of-seven series at two games each going into Game 5 on Thursday night at East Rutherford, N.J.

"We're going to end it in six," Eisner was quoted as saying in a column by Larry Brooks of the New York Post under the headline, "Ducks talkin' quack." "We're going to end it here on Saturday night. We deserve to win it and we will win it."

Eisner, whose team often played to apathetic, half-empty houses during the regular season, also took time to disparage Devil fans.

"I was in New Jersey for the first two games," he was quoted as saying in the same article, "and the difference between our fans in Anaheim was just so obvious. I don't want to get into trouble, but our fans here were on fire and the fans in New Jersey were dead; they were dead.

"Even our fans were better than theirs were."

Said Burns: "We'll see about that Thursday night."

I love the bulletin board material, boys! Nothing better than stupid comments.

I actually thought the Ducks were gaining the mental upper hand until I saw the Eisner quote. Thorne mentioned that Friesen laughed while he skated past the Ducks' bench late in Game 2. Thomas in particular was pissed, so he took an early slashing penalty vs Friesen in Game 3. That may explain why Stumpy's smile was ear-to-ear after he notched the game-winner in Gm 4.

Remember Bertuzzi's braindead comments vs Min. He told the Wild fans to not bother getting tickets for Game 6, since there wasn't going to be a Game 6. Bertuzzi later told the Wild to "get the golf clubs out, boys. This series is over."

PS: 10:15am tee time Thursday for the Bertuzzi party of 4.
