The cost has sky rocketed in the last few years and the coverage from insurance has become less. Certainly there has always been lawsuits against doctors. Doesn't really explain the spikes we are seeing now.

ferdville--that's what I was thinking. To add to it, we have at least one representative in this discussion from the insurance industry and medical industry. Now we just need someone from the legal industry to agree, and we will all compose a letter to our congressmen!

But seriously, if we can get over our differences on the war we can accomplish a lot together. The things we differ on, for the most part, are not all that earth shattering. With a system of checks and balances everything seems to run pretty good most of the time.
