I totally remember when my best friend and I were in love with Cake in high school. loved their stuff. This was a song that inspired us to wear the short skirt and a long jacket. Great times.

I actually saw these guys at the Cubby Bear on 92 or 93 not sure which maybe even 91............nahhhh...had to be 93 I guess. Anyway, went there with the soon to be fiance, soon to be wife, now ex-wife and her niece and a buddy of mine after the Cubs game. Cheered like hell every time they took a break. My friend Mike and I razzed the holy hell out of that band for some reason, screaming at 'em to take a break and hollering 'freebird' and shit. Was a friggin gas. Course the band (using the term loosely) didn't like it much but they were green and I was tanked so I couldn't have cared any less than I did then or do now. Ultimately, the band Cake has produced some decent songs I am still a bit nonplussed but hey thats just me. Anyway, some dude goes tumbling down the stairs and splits his head open right in front of us. He is bleeding everywhere, his girlfriend i freaking out, the paramedics arrive and my buddy asks the guy if he can have his full beer since he wouldn't be drinking it. The dude is practically comatose and Mike is prying this brand new cold Bud out of this guys hands.........I was absolutely dying. Still one of the funniest things I ever saw. Oh yeah, we did finally get the band to yell back at us and call us jerks and stuff. Good times.
