Cal returns a ton of guys
Tenn is picked mid pack in SEC in most mags...
Cal is touted as the real deal in the PAC TEN

I know the pac ten is soft but I think call makes a statement.. runs all over Tenn...
Wins big....

i haven't decided one way or the other about this game but usually teams don't run on tenn. without a passing attack to keep the defense off balance.i'm not sure that calif. has the type of multi-dimensional offense needed.

good luck with your plays.

...not usually, never. ;)

I've said it before and I'll say it again.... Tennessee may not have the best gameday coach, but he is one hell of a recruiter. Sure we get more than our share of thugs, but what top program doesn't? Look at the NFL.... Let's face it, other than a few exceptions (e.g. Peyton, et al.), the best athletes aren't necesarily the best citizens. (e.g. USC, Va. Tech, Miami, Ok, Fl, Fl St....the list goes on.)

Tennessee may have to rebuild on some areas, but there are 2 areas that we are always stout.... Defensive front 7 and RB...if a couple of sleeper WR's show up and Ainge isn't scared of his own shadow, we will surprise some folks this year. ;)

edit: p.s. Some have said that CAL will try to go man-up on the outside and put 8 in the box to stop Foster.... Bring it, baby! Look for Cutcliff to run Foster in the trad TN off takle plays and then mix in play action, roll Ainge out of the pocket to get him comfortable...and look for taller wideouts to make plays. :)

Gentlemen, this analysis is nearly as good as listening to Neon Dieon in the NFL.

I am very impressed.

Because the Vols have talent and are at home. I'm staying away and will just watch and enjoy. I think on a neutral field Call would win by 7-10, but if I had to lean one way it would be the Vols winning this game ath home in the fourth quarter.

I think Vegas installing Tenn as fav's says a lot.....I think CAL loses a tough one here and goes home for three straight home games to make a 3-1 record. No doubt CAL is the better team with more expectations and could take this, but that line to me is screaming CAL $$$$.......possible trap.

The story on this one is way simpler than people are making it out to be. CAL is running a new QB onto foreign turf for the first time. That is a situation that Vegas knows is tough to overcome.

This is also a strong play if you like wrong favorites. If you don't love a lower ranked team favored over a higher ranked team, good luck.

I'm not saying that this is a sure thing, no games are. However, this has the makings of a casino cash cow play and I'd just as soon take my chances on the casino's side.

Stats are for suckers.

Maybe you guys are right
I really liked Cal initially
Deeper defense Ayboob has played before at QB
Tenn was a team that killed me LAST year
But this is a new year so I will keep an open mind
Cal had been talking about overthrowing USC as the best team in the Pac 10
I may just stay away...

How about Pitt???

FYI Fat Phil is 1-4 SU and 0-5 ATS his last five home games vs top ten teams. Cal is 7-2 ATS L9 road openers.
