Last night on ESPN radio, Jason Smith was going over a couple of Rob Beck stories that he had never heard before.
One had to do with the adoption of a child.
The other had to do with an event that occurred when Beck played for the Giants organization during the mid 90's. The Giants were looking to upgrade (or install) the sound system in the locker rooms. Barry Bonds generously decides that he will catch the tab for the cost of this project. Ends up being $5000 in total. System installed, Barry decides to then tell everyone that he will decide all the music that will be played. Beck takes a bat to the system, destroys it, writes a check for 5 grand, gives it to Barry and tells him that this is a team.
