-First...Rip is listed doubtful against the Knicks tonight with a groin. Collins calls him a day-to-day situation. He IS a large part of this 8 game Wiz streak averaging 20+ per game.
-Since Van Gundy left (on 12-8) the Knicks are a poor 2-5 with Spree being about the only bright spot. Another positive has been a recent 5 pt. increase in the team's scoring output as demonstrated by.......
In Van Gundy's Last 7 games Knicks scored:
85
89
97
105
88
78
72 = 87.7 per game ave.
In Chaney's 7 games Knicks scored :
101
93
97
80
96
95
88 = 92.9 per game ave.
-On Dec 14 Chaney and the Knicks went to Washington and lost by 16....96-80. This game was heading OVER until a 16 pt NY and 17 pt. Wash 4th period. (NY was on the road at Det the night before and Wash was coming off 1 days rest.)
-Team shooting for the Knicks on Dec 14 was a horrible 35% but 46% for the host Wiz.
-The Knick's 80 points scored that night were the lowest by this Chaney lead team.
-In NY's last outing on Thursday they suffered an embarrassing home loss to the Griz 90-88!
-Last night when Rip went out Davis and Jones picked up their game and a "Wiser Wizard" MJ allowed them to do so. Yesterday in gsp's thread I stated that this young team's confidence seems to grow game by game.
-NBA win streaks always end. The Wiz may well go down tonight if Rip is out.......but not without a "good" fight from MJ, Haywood, Popeye Jones and Davis!!!!
I see a competitive affair tonight between these two.....not withstanding the fact Rip may not play.
My reasoning here is.......a higher scoring NY Knick team coming off an embarrassment and a Wash Wiz team trying to hang on to that win streak "high"!
I expect more points tonight as both teams have some extra motivation and NY with revenge on their mind. I gotta believe Chaney wants more than 80 points tonight!

Over 178' and a lean to Wash if Rip goes!

19-10 YTD....2-1 LN taking an OT BULLET for RC the "Water Walk'n, Book Drown'n, Co-leader To Last Night's Promise Land".
JT/RC...the Team has seen the "Promise Land" and we want to go back again!! ez
