UCONN - Ranked 20th and is 7-1

Rutgers - Unranked and is 5-3

The game is at UCONN. The line opened at UCONN -3 and now is a pick. I look at this matchup and I dont understand the line. I would have guessed UCONNas a 4-7 point favorite.

Yeah, UCONN is definitely the better team IMO. I think Rutgers is highly overrated this year. I think this is going to be a difficult spot for UCONN though. They've had huge emotional wins the last two weeks at home as home dogs, against Louisville and South Florida. I have to wonder much they will have left in the tank after those games.

Having said that, I couldn't bet Rutgers ever. They've gotten drilled by Maryland, Cincy, and West Va. AT HOME. They're pretty much garbage...

Im with ya Glenn. I just dont understand. I look to some of the casinos to see if the money is coming in heavily on Rutgers, but it is not? Yet every capper in every forum I see is on Rutgers. With the weather, I think the under is a lock here but I dont see the angle on Rutgers.

The main reason is the weather. The tail end of Noel is supposed to be hitting up there. High winds and heavy rains play into a running game which would favor Rutgers more than UConn. A steady diet of Ray Rice will shorten the game and wear down UConn. If it is not raining at game time, the field will be a mess but UConn and the passing game may have the advantage there because the offensive players know where they are going and the defenders will ahve to react and on the wet field that usually means a lot of slips and falls.

Good Luck!!

weather favors Rutgers

   It's supposed to rain again there and there 2 biggest wins in school history, the past 2 weeks, were in a pouring rain. Hard to say that would favor rutgers....... who got destroyed last week in a down pour. :nono: :nono:

Yeah, I think the under is a much better play than Rutgers. I didn't realize the weather was so bad. As for so many people being on Rutgers, I'm really not sure. I truly believe that there are a lot of people who still think Rutgers is a really good team based on how good they were last year.

If you've watched them at all this year, they just aren't a very good team. Their only win against a "good" opponent this year is South Fla., and So. Fla. is proving that they aren't even a top 25 team recently. And that was a home game in which Rutgers eeked out a 3 point win...

I dont know how the weather would favor Rutgers. Look at the stats:

Rutgers averages 180 yards rushing per game while UCONN averages 165.

Rutgers gives up 150 yards rushing per game, while UCONN gives up only 117.

Rutgers averages 276 yards passing per game, while UCONN averages 200.

The #s show that UCONN has the overall rushing advantage and Rutgers has the passing advantage. The bad weather would seem to favor UCONN.

UCONN has been playing well, and Rutgers just got smoked last weekend. I dont get it?

Hope you decided to play UCONN. Still a long way to go but Rutgers is getting absolutely exposed yet again. They are just an awful, awful team.
