Me believe that Garbage site, no thanks.

So you blindly follow blogs with a an obvious agenda even after being proven (like with facts) to be wrong, rather than even consider a site that breaks down every single part of a story and with facts and describes which parts are correct and which parts are false?

Are you retarded? Can you think for yourself? Are you living in some kind of gerber-fed matrix under a dictator that does not allow you to tap into the part of your brain that uses reason and logic?

Look, I don't mean to attack. I have no idea what what the situation was like at that Iowa corn rally or whatever it was. The candidates all had different poses and were looking in different directions. The other videos show him holding his hand over his heart.

You have made no admission of error regarding the Meet The Press thing or his comments which were never made. You bring in a phony story and then blame others when you are shown to be wrong.

Wrong.........they all had their hands over their hearts and some of them were facing the Flag behind them.........

SMURPHY AND SCOTT you 2 still have not answered my question?
ARE YOU AFRAID TO????

Here it is again...........
Do you teach your kids (or would you) to act like this when the national anthem is played in a setting like that???

By the way..........the proper way to act when the Star Spangled Banner is played

UNITED STATES CODE
TITLE 36
CHAPTER 10

PATRIOTIC CUSTOMS

? 170. National anthem; Star-Spangled Banner.
? 171. Conduct during playing.
? 172. Pledge of allegiance to the flag; manner of delivery.
? 173. Display and use of flag by civilians; codification of rules and customs; definition.
? 174. Time and occasions for display.
? 175. Position and manner of display.
? 176. Respect for flag.
? 177. Conduct during hoisting, lowering or passing of flag.

?170. National anthem; Star-Spangled Banner
The composition consisting of the words and music known as The Star-Spangled Banner is designated the national anthem of the United States of America.

?171. Conduct during playing
During rendition of the national anthem when the flag is displayed, all present except those in uniform should stand at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart. Men not in uniform should remove their headdress with their right hand and hold it at the left shoulder, the hand being over the heart. Persons in uniform should render the military salute at the first note of the anthem and retain this position until the last note. When the flag is not displayed, those present should face toward the music and act in the same manner they would if the flag were displayed there.

?172. Pledge of allegiance to the flag; manner of delivery
The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag, 'I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.', should be rendered by standing at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart. When not in uniform men should remove their headdress with their right hand and hold it at the left shoulder, the hand being over the heart. Persons in uniform should remain silent, face the flag, and render the military salute.

No, I wouldn't. ....But even you have to admit that the video does not show very much. Obama looks like he's not even necessarily sure what is going on - and the song was sung so bad I could barely recognize what it was. Every other video of him with the SSB playing he is very clearly with hand over heart.

Maybe it's counterproductive to try and fault the man over extremely irrelevant ceremonial nuances? Do you really want to be defending an email you received with a COMPLETELY FALSE article attached. ....Think for yourself. Right or wrong, at least do that. It's obvious where your vote is, but AT THE VERY LEEAST acknowledge that the email FALSELY SHOWED AN INTERVIEW THAT NEVER EVEN TOOK PLACE.

.... just think for yourself, dude. at least do that.

Well a guy from Texas suing Obama is proof enough for me.

....oops, wrong UT.

You are generally sensible, 65. What do you think?

Skul and 6'5 got an email about it. The rest of the world is wrong, but the rocket scientists in this brain trust know the truth.

that video I posted addresses the snopes and fact check explanation of citizenship. I certainly don't agree with everything on that video, but some good points are made. I mainly posted it for skullnik as he brought up the Indonesian citizenship idea.

Do people really care about this nonsense? MY goodness with this garbage over and over again. I couldn't give two shits if someone burnt a flag in front of me as long as my yard didn't catch on fire. petty bullshit that divides people when real problems are right in front of their face. Im gonna worry about a guy holding his hand on his heart while another guy sent 5000 kids to their deaths on a bullshit war.

Sponge, I agree, what did he hope to gain going there, if he wears the pin and respects the National Anthem, there is no controversy, JMO.

The protocol for Anthem is followed very little. Go to a sporting event and watch. There is no schooling on what to do. Most just stand and look out in space. Half sing half don't. Some remember to take there hat off. Some salute some place hand over chest. Note a nascar race. They stand with a beer in one hand and the other any place they can put it including scratching there balls. There is no set rule. In fact if you don't feal like it you don't need to stand. The reason I believe is they started playing to many events. Like the wagon races for kids 8 and under in my town.

Last debate McCain didn't have his flag pin on and Obama did. Who gives a shit who had it on. This is only red meat for dopes like you who can be played over and over again. Im actually stunned that Mav is the author of this thread because Mav is always one step ahead of this type of stuff. If you reall cared about the country you would be more concerned with where that pin was made instead of worrying who is wearing it. Can't we get to something more important like the Pastor Wright fiasco again? You know the 20 years he stood in front of Obama and somehow the neocons dug up one paragragh in 20 years for you dopes to run with. Meanwhile another Pastor had access to the whitehouse wearing pink slippers yet denouncing gay rights every chance he had. Silly shit

Have I missed any issues that are central to the McCain campaign and republican politics over the last 8 years? If not, I think John's got a handle on what ails the country, don't you.
