The protocol for Anthem is followed very little. Go to a sporting event and watch. There is no schooling on what to do. Most just stand and look out in space. Half sing half don't. Some remember to take there hat off. Some salute some place hand over chest. Note a nascar race. They stand with a beer in one hand and the other any place they can put it including scratching there balls. There is no set rule. In fact if you don't feal like it you don't need to stand. The reason I believe is they started playing to many events. Like the wagon races for kids 8 and under in my town.
Last debate McCain didn't have his flag pin on and Obama did. Who gives a shit who had it on. This is only red meat for dopes like you who can be played over and over again.
