I see the republican jock sniffer Drudge is back at it again with his complete pimping of another misrepresentation sensational headline to discredit all things Clinton...

Headline at top of page falsely says: "Bill Clinton: Obama Is Just Like Jesse Jackson..." admittedly the ABC news headline (also must be holding a candle for Obama) says that - which is not
remotely what Bill said.

Both ABC and Drudge should be called out for misrepresentation, if not outright lying.

By the way...have we seen more about the Drudge reporting in big block letters the National Enquirer unfinished story (for hours there was no story on the linked page, just a pic of Edwards and the headline) about Edwards supposed "affair"?

And then we see Lefty Ed Schultz going off on Bill Clinton all week about his lying about Obama's positions, etc. Now which side is the more reprehensible and suspect on actually reporting facts and pumping an agenda?

Could you put up Clintons actual quote--I be curious if it was taken out of context.
++++++++++++++++++++++++
this is all I could find on quote--
Said Bill Clinton today in Columbia, SC: "Jesse Jackson won South Carolina in '84 and '88. Jackson ran a good campaign. And Obama ran a good campaign here."

This was in response to a question about Obama saying it "took two people to beat him." Jackson had not been mentioned.

If this is all there is--then maybe a stretch but his intent was to compare Obama win to Jesse winning--ie race card.

IMO a much more evident misrepresentaion would be your trying to single out Drudge as culprit when almost every pub in American carried same headline--here is just 1st 2pages search on google-

I guess your right Wayne. Most Americans like the way elections are run. Only the rich get to run for office. You support maintaining an election system that allows those who have money to purchase influence.

If you like your property values decreasing, 30% interest on your credit cards, a 400 trillion dollar national debt that will have to be paid back with most of that money being owed to China, $3.00 plus per gallon for oil, and the occupation of Iraq, continue to listen to Wayne.

If you don't make campaign finance reform the number one priority so that the powerful (mostly corporate but including unions, lawyers, doctors, etc.) cannot buy candidates.

You've got me confused with someone else edward--i've got no credirt card debt--i bought house to live in "homeownership-the american dream-remember) not as a speculation or because I found I could buy house on some interest only contract and it would be cheaper than rent (while it lasted'.

and on your 30% decline in home values--

1st I'll give you pass on your exhorbent misrepresentation of truth (outright lie) considering your backround-

Today per your liberal bible NYT--

In 2007, the median price of an American single-family home fell for the first time in at least four decades, according to the National Association of Realtors, a trade group.

The median price declined 1.8 percent to $217,800, the first annual decline since reliable records began in 1968. ?It?s the first price decline in many, many years and possibly going back to the Great Depression,? said the group?s chief economist, Lawrence Yun.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Now let me point out diff between you (glass half empty) and myself (glass half full)

Considering home prices have increasesd bout 34% in U.S. past 5 years before your 1.8% drop I feel I've come out bout 32.2% ahead--you on the other hand feel you lost 1.8%--but then again when housing prices went up bout 18% in one quarter in05 the liberals were ranting about house affordabilty--thats what makes you and yours so unique Edward--you can make the(glass have empty) on either side of any situation.

bottom line: if your really for the little guy the thought of them have more affordable housing should over ride your anger that your home equity line of credit has been reduced 1.8% :)

You did capture the entire quote, as far as I know, Wayne. I read the linked blog entry, where the headline did not reflect the actual quote, but made it far more sensational. I also listened to it this AM, and it was not a strong statement, more of an off the cuff response to a pointed, confrontational question from a reporter on why it takes both he and Hillary to beat Obama. That kind of question certainly could have prompted a worse response than his, which merely points out that it should be expected that a strong black candidate would perform well in South Carolina if Jackson could.

My point about Drudge is that he placed it as a top link, as he continually does if it can be construed as negative to Clinton. The fact this was picked up by other sites is understandable, considering the screaming negative headline which should draw readers, even though it was not reflective of the actual quote.

And if you are arguing that Drudge is not completely biased and determined to soil the Clinton reputation at every turn - this was just one of countless others over the past two decades (Bill pretty much put him on the map), then I'd submit that you are simply wrong, or trying to gloss over the obvious.

Don't worry, Eddie, there are some of us here that witnessed the six points you made in that paragraph, and the one reverse spin comment that could be manufactured by Wayne while ignoring the other five toughies.

Sure, things have come up over the past few years, and even this is headed the other way now. That's positive, I guess. And everybody just ignore the other five things - no big deal - remember, the glass is half full for some.

:rolleyes:

Thanks Chad:

The reality though is that good ole Wayne, true to form, misquoted me. I never said "30% decline in home values".

I said:

"...property values decreasing, 30% interest on your credit cards..."

His wonderful friends in the banking and mortgage loan industry who were more than willing to look the other way when taking funky stated income applications with less than honest appraisers at their beckon call in order to turn a quick buck and then sell the paper to poor old Wall Street have been the real culprits in this meltdown.

Yeah, Wayne you and I lawabiding mortgage paying citizens are seeing our property values decrease as more and more properties in our little old well to do neighborhoods aren't turning around so fast because of this subprime crisis. So your telling me my property value isn't declining!!!

Once again you are full of it.

Edward regardless of what % you were still whing on a small reduction after huge run up.

on declining property values--Would suggest you move out of Cinn as looks like next Detroit to me.

--and while on erring on #'s make that 53% increase instead of 34%--

Home prices increase at their fastest rate in 25 years
By Sue Kirchhoff, USA TODAY
WASHINGTON ? Home prices rose at the fastest pace in a quarter century from the second quarter of 2004 through the second quarter of 2005, the government said Thursday. Economists warned that the bull market in housing isn't sustainable, but isn't over yet.

A government economist says there's 'no evidence' of peaking prices.
By Tim Dillon, USA TODAY file

The Office of Federal Housing and Enterprise Oversight said prices rose 13.4% in the 12 months ended in June, the fastest rate since 1979. Appreciation was 3.2% from April to June 2005, 12.8% on an annual basis. Prices have risen more than 53% in the past five years.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++
and your whinining about a 1.8% reduction.
--epitome of glass half full liberal

Wayne:

Would love to move out of Cincinnati and purchase that nice little bungalow thats ready to go into foreclosure next to you and the Mrs. down in Bowling Green but I wouldn't be able to sell my house up here because of the number of houses on the market and the fact that no one is buying. And I owe it all to your wonderful marketplacd Republican adminsitration policies of the last 7 years.

Yeah you guys have done a wonderful job with the US since taking over in 1996. Congratulations on the destruction of my country. Wars so that the wealthy can get wealthier, a relatively few uninformed Americans or otherwise greedy will get killed, and the only external cost is a few hundred thousand sand *******. Keep the general population scared and wave the flag. No wonder this prick is holding hands with the bin Laden family.

Chad you got Edward in this trap with the :0corn bit--so want you to know your responsible :)
+++++++++++++++++++++

The reason you can't sell your house Edward is you live in Cinn--maybe you can swap it for one in detroit. :)

on mortgages --98% of people are still paying their mortgages on time--granted if live among those that borrowed at interest only--or got greedy and took equity loans to buy more property your probably hearing a lot of :cry:

As to "your' america--I've brought up your ACLU/hope your kids are deserters ect attitude before--less just say we have diff values.

--and on your uniformed Americans--
You wouldn't be speaking of those you get up to 50% more benefits than insurance company offered and make you think you did something for them
I think you need to inform them- that if you get 50% judgement higher than ins co offered in
1st place- they don't make a penny more than if they had settled--you pocket entire excess in judgement
All in the name of helping the little guy.

This might be a little to complicated for Spy and his crew to grasp--so I'll go slow.

Spy "is bumped" at traffic light. Insurance co offers him $10,000 but he speaks with neighbor in trailor next to him. neighbor says --Man don't settle-I know this Haskell bro that takes care of us.
Spy see's Haskel and gets guarantee he can get more--and does after sending the insurance co the normal 3 letters in bargaining at cost of maybe $5 postage-- does get increase in judgement to $15,000 He and Spy do a little dap and celebrating until spy gets home and finds after Edward getting 1/3 he's still left with the $10,000 the ins co offered a year ago. Yep Edwards 33% is really 100% of increase. --and not just this case--but any figure you want to use if judgement is increased 50% Edward's 1/3 pockets 100% of excess. Now if he tacks on expenses--things really get nasty-

Sorry to give away your little secret Edward but I figured from your rant -you preferred people to be "informed" :)

The PI golden rule never speak to ins co before us--they might make you offer that that makes someone else look bad.

If situation arises speak with insurance co but and get offer-but sign nothig--if you have attorney aquaintance best to have him call but get a # and let them know you'll get back to them.
Then shop attorneys if you choose and pose this question--Will you take 50% of any increase in judgement in lieu of 1/3rd of settlement. If they won't-you might ask why.;)

You forgot about the chiropractor that I refer them too (who I have a deal with) who will treat them for about 6 months (3x a week at $200 a pop) and increase the medical specials another $8,000 or so.

I thought white silver spooned men on the left bought by special interst groups -vs- white silver spooned men on the right bought by special interesrt groups is gender & race politics at its lowest, depth. Forget about irony and nausea, it has America in trouble and most of the American People vomiting threw their noses ! Smart guys like you that use big words should do what I do, look them up. Add a (C) & drop a (T) and you have staccato. I guess my short distinct style works, some like it and it stikes a nerve with you. Then I get to see your elitist confused passion. I think its more than race and gender for Ob & some of his supporters. I do think it is about race and gender for Hil and most of her supporters. You are alot like the Clintons. People of both genders and all ages need to guide America with young / fresh / vigorous / progressive ideas .

who's worse than bush ? even jimmy carter is off the hook .. Did 43 ruin the party ??? not the good part of the party .... sometimes you have to tear something down to move forward. 41 put the first nail in the Reagan revolution, 43 has it almost sealed off..... Huckabee could bring America back from Reagans biggest mistake, bush 41.... no 41 no 43....
