Lumi:
link did not work.

I personally agree and it will dramatically affect what happens economically in the US - for one thing, interest rates will be much different.

Thx, lumi. Will do.

I am NOT a financial planner. However, I think you can all help yourselves.
Pay down debt.
If you can, acquire some 'junk' silver coins.

I have acquired quite a bit of "junk" silver coins and bars as well. Larger denominations are difficult to use as barter and trade. My gold pieces are no larger than 1/2 ounce.

Exactly, lumi. I think of it as 'crazy' insurance - if the world does go crazy and the dollar becomes worthless, silver coins can be used as a currency. Bars and gold coins - hard to make 'change' for those.

Aside from that, silver has been very good in regular appreciation - now over $36 / ounce. I think it still has upside - if the world does not melt down, you have diversified some assets and potentially will have gains there.

London friend of mine told me this:
Water and ammo.
I hope that is not the extreme we see but with the events in Wisconsin playing out as they are - what is going to happen when the FEDS have to tackle the entitlements like Social Security, Medicare and Welfare?

Bottom line - there is NOT enough money for all of the promises that have been made by BOTH parties, heck - parties? BY WORLD_WIDE GOVERNMENTS.
