For those of you like me that had MEMPHIS +6.5, here's how the game ends....

With 3:02 to go, MEM has a 3 pt lead 101-98 and it looks good. Unfortunately, MEM will NOT score again.... SEA makes a FT, then MEM misses, SEA scores a 2 pt basket to tie it up at 101 with 2:14 to play. In the next 1:24 there are four missed shots, 3 turnovers and no one scores until SEA fouls Collins while shooting with 50 seconds to go. Collins calmy bricks the first, then the 2nd BUT Cardinal gets the rebound for MEM and they call Timeout. Gay replaces Cardinal and goes to the hole and gets his shot blocked. SEA gets the ball and WALLY drives in and gets fouled by Collins while making his shot. It's now a 3 pt lead with :30 to go.... seems safe. GAY launches a 3 hitting next to nothing, SEA rebounds and is fouled with 20 seconds to go. WATSON makes em both to make it 106-101 with 17 seconds left.

After another MEM timeout, GAY launches yet another 3 hitting nothing and SEA rebounds and is fouled with 11 seconds to go. WILKINS makes them both and MEM has one more shot with 11 seconds to go.... but instead of a shot, it's a turnover and the ball game is over!

The sad part is.... I was at bowling. Had no idea what happened as I didn't "BOTHER" to call in and check the score once I saw MEM leading with under 3 minutes to go. I felt it was safe... I then throw like 3 splits in a row and "just KNOW" something bad has happened. I'm watching the LAKERS game, which I played Under 104 for the second half, and then see the FINAL FLASH across the bottom. I'm in disbelief!!!!!! I'm now officially on TILT, so I figure, well if the LAKERS stay under, I at least push the two, not so bad after a pretty good nite.

Then it happens.... with 2:43 to go, I can still have 13 pts and win. A minute goes by and only 4 pts, so I'm looking good. Down to under a minute, only 56 seconds and I can still afford 7 pts and still win. But alas.... only 1 missed shot the rest of the game and it ends at 105 for 2H on a crazy 3/4 of the court pass and then a turnaround jumper from like 18 feet. THEN and only THEN does LA dribble out the clock. :violin:

The sadder part was earlier in the half, the LAKERS were using the UCLA tactic and waiting til like 5 seconds to go on the clock before attempting a shot, and launching a 28 footer from 3 pt land in desperation.... however, WALTON and FARMAR BOTH drained them! :mj16: :banghead: :00x4

Well, at least the LAKERS are on a :142lmao:
