I wholly agree with Fletcher -- I'm a Western Michigan grad and the exra sellout they will get from playing TCU at home tonight will do wonders for the athletic program budget and possibly in recruiting. Smaller schools like WMU know they can't realistically compete in the NCAAs beyond a Cinderella win or two, although their first choice naturally would have been to win the conference and have the shot. But this way, they can at least get some attention that can't be stolen away by the mega-programs. There's genuine enthusiasm in the community for this secondary tournament, so it's good for everybody.

Mr. Burns,

With 44 posts you're telling Fletcher to "calm down?"

You don't have the credibility to reprimand Fletcher.

Take a seat in the back of the class.

And pay attention...

You might learn something.

buddy:

with all due respect, i think burns has enough credibility to offer his opinion. he doesnt post often but when he does, its often beneficial to the forum. i know a lot of 5,000-post idiots, and a handful of 100-post sages.

Coming from a St Joes alum...they will sell out and then if they make it to the Garden, 6000-8000 people will venture up the turnpike like they did back in '96. NIT reps want St Joes in the garden, their fan base travels to anything remotely close. (selling out the fieldhouse is only 3,000 +, however :) If you see St Joes move a game to the Palestra, thats when they get 8,000 plus for a game.
