I'm for the legalization of all drugs in general, because what you want to do with your body (as long as it doesn't infringe on the freedoms of others) should be your choice. It's the mark of a truly free society.
If and/or when this happens:
- Employers will have no legal right to exclude these users.
- Insurance (auto, life & medical)companies have no legal right to exclude these users.
- The Taxes that come from these drugs can go into the same black hole as everything else
;-)
The work relations issue will certainly a difficult one to tap dance around.
Are heavy equipment manufacturers, 18 wheelers, and so on all going to remove their safety statements because of the legalization of.... ?
And on a same but different topic, Gays in the Military. The end of DADT has opened up the doors for far more avenues of "Civilian" intergration than we even know.
If the legalization of drugs were to be passed, how long would it take before there would be a push to let troops taking bong hits and busting rails before going on patrol or flying a sortie?
