WHY WAKE??

I love Uconn in this spot as a slight dog, and am really shocked to see sooo many cappers on Wake.
I know they have a solid defence. But Lorenzen is a very underrated and capable QB (much moreso than Skinner). Rushing games seem to me to be about even, and Uconns defence isnt too bad either.
Granted they are evenly matched, hence the line.
However, Wake seems to be the choice by everyone.

WHAT AM I MISSING?!

Two similar teams...

Two similar teams...

I believe most cappershere like wake because:

covered 3 out of last 4 bowls.
Game is in Charlotte, basically home game for wake.
Wake has #17 defense against the run & Uconn only has #94 pass offense, i.e. they will struggle to score.
Jim Grobe is perceived to be better coach.

I like WF for these reasons & ACC is faster conference, deacons have played against more speed top to bottom than Uconn.

We all saw what happened to UConn when they played a team with speed(West Virginia). They got annihilated. I think the under is a pretty good play as well. Both teams will struggle to move the ball.

Thanks for the replies.
After more contimplation and consideration, I just cant get away from putting my money on UCONN.
The home field edge scares me a bit as UCONN has been awful on the road this year, but I think Skinner will throw at least a couple picks, and Lorenzen will have a solid game if he just manages the game and does not try to do too much.
And it doesnt hurt to take points (albeit 2) with a dog in a game that could forseeably go either way.

But as always, good luck whichever side you play!

UCONN +2 $220/200 :scared

Connecticut will have a hard time moving the ball today. I took the Demon Deacons -2.5 but Good Luck with your selection. May the best team win.:yup

Neither team gonna be able to run the ball today. Wake's secondary is poor and UConn needs to attack and quit trying to run the ball if they want to stay in this game. Otherwise, I can see Wake winning this one easily.

Neither offense has looked impressive. I think the team that makes more plays on special teams and/or defense will win it. That's why I think that punt return was huge. Still a loooong way to go though.

Nevermind, I think you got this one Ronnie. UCONN is probably the worst tackling team I've seen all season and the refs sure seem to be biased towards WF in this one.

UCONN D is playing above their heads. Who wants it more?

I think UCONN has a very good D. The West Va. game was a bit of a fluke. Having said that, I think Wake gets back into this game in the 2h. I also expect to see a lot of questionable calls go their way in the 2h as well. I'm on UCONN so I hope not, but we'll see.

Glad I pounded Wake in the 2h. They're clearly the better team. If they were smart they would just pass every play. UCONN's secondary is absolutely horrible.
