play Pepperdine vs CT tonight...enough to bring the line down from 13 to 11.5.

This is a game that could get ugly...

CT is VERY BIG, DEEP...and LONG and FAST with MUCH NBA talent.............while

Pepperdine is YOUNG, not nearly as athletic, not nearly as deep...7' backup center all WCC rook last year Russel Hicks just broke his foot Wednesday....(coulda used his D tonight) I think G Marvin Lea also has a broken foot......POINT IS....

Who is so hot on Pepperdine??? and WHY???

Bear, you have to admit that when you see a line like this, Pepperdine is usually the way to go as it will cash more often than not. It is a strange line for sure and there will probably be much better UCONN plays later in the season don't you think?

on paper, uconn should roll. but keep in mind that uconn, gonzaga, and arkansas all have the maui tourney coming up in days. thats a loaded field and while its too early to use the term "lookahead", calhoun would be wise to make sure his guys dont treat this as a perfunctory "pitstop game" before heading out to the island. if pepperdine didnt lose so much to graduation, id be all over the waves. but definitely want no part of uconn as a double digit chalk in malibu.... just days before maui.

Steam plays aint what they used to be! jmho
I have developing ideas about them..
Only reason to play Pepperdine last night would have been ..steam play...the "looking forward" issue or the Packed to the rafters home crowd in a hot, stuffy bandbox venue. Paul Westphal .."they were better than us. The roof would have to fall in for us to have won that game"
Pepperdine played well into the talent disparity...CT a little 1st game.. road..sloppy-but were in control of the game.
Regarding steam..............may come to mean opportunity???
given the "somebody knows something" mindset that gamblers have...............
