Why do so many people like KC this weekend?
They've won one game, and it was basically handed to them by those inept Ravens. A really bad team, with a REALLY bad offence, who STILL scored 24 pts on the Chiefs. Jax is sliding, sure, but I still don't see much reason for KC to be a road favorite. Overwhelming favorite this week in the Hilton contest too...I must be missing something. They've shown us NOTHING this year. Yes, Jax can't score...but when teams like Baltimore can put up 24, and Carolina can put up 28 on the Chiefs...well...this does seem like the softest D the Jags have faced all year. (I guess it would have to be given that KC likely has the league's worst D).
Why all the predictions Seattle will win outright this weekend?
I'm starting to wonder what the Pats will ever have to do to get respect. Win 30 in a row? 50? They don't do any one thing exceptionally well, but they do EVERYTHING well. Offence, defence, special teams, coaching...they have it all. No hot dogs on this team either, no ME ME ME players. They just win. How can you not like this team? What more could you ask for? This is a very small line...essentially saying on a neutral field these two teams are equals. They're far from it. NE has won 2 of the past 3 Superbowls, yet appear to be playing even better than they did in the past. The Seahawks haven't won a single playoff game in god knows how long. I know the Hawks are the trendy choice right now....but that loss last week, that is a confidence killer...the kind of loss that screws with your head and makes you really doubt yourself when push comes to shove. Not what you need before you go clear across the country, to face a team that hasn't lost in a year...and is only laying 3? at home!!! I just must be missing something. Personally, since every expert out there has been predicting for a long time that this will be the game the streak ends, I'm going to predict the Pats go out and lay a pasting on Seattle. I believe they will be more than ready for the challenge.
Why is the total on the San Fran/NY Jets game only 43?
The Jets can score a ton, and this week should be no exception. But I really don't see NY being all that focused on D either with this bunch of no-names coming into their house. I think NY has an excellent shot at getting 30, and if that happens I'm pretty confident SF can get the rest. (Yes I know Santana Moss is out - and I don't care). The Jets are coming off back to back divisional games vs tough defence...this should seem like a picnic to them...if their heads are in the game.
Why should I not bet on the Lions this week?
Man this game looks like the easiest pickins since... well, I don't know...last week? GB sucks in domes and on turf, Favre is having an off-year, GB has NO, absolutely NO, defence. The home team has covered 10 straight in this series. It is REALLY hard to make a case for the Pack...yet the line sits on the 3 and won't budge. This could be the Screw-U game of the week. But still I want to bet on the Lions. If this isn't the biggest trap on the board, then tell me....
Why should I not bet on the Vikings this week?
Face it, the Saints are pure garbage. They've yet to allow fewer than 20 pts in any game this year, and that streak surely will not end this week. Offensive powerhouses like Arizona and Tampa Bay scored 34 and 20 on these jokers... Culpepper and Moss are going to go NUTS on this swiss cheese D. Two dome teams going at it...total looks like it should be in about the 119? range or so... (ok, maybe not
). Conveniently scheduled at 8:30 so that everyone can bail out of their bad day with such an easy and obvious pick. So why do I get this queasy feeling in my stomach....?
Should be an interesting weekend....
Good luck!
