Among Libtards!!
why would a coach with a good defensive team do that???????? There was a minute on the clock....play "D" and see if you can get a stop...it was only a one possession game....wtf!!! I don't understand these coaches sometimes.....all of the pressure was on NC in that position!! :cursin: :cursin:

down 3 with a minute to go.3 fouls to give.............he did the exact opposite of what she should have done.
Ryan deserves to lose
doesn't he know UNC can make free throws?!i feel for those UW kids

I understand committing the fouls for the bonus. Then you play D and foul later if you have to. Of course not a peep from the brilliant CBS guys

makes absolutely no sense....make NC make a shot...even if they would've, there still would've been at least 35 seconds on the clock and then you could've played the foul game.....ryan would have to explain this to me.....you're the underdog (big underdog) and you've got a lot of peoples choice to win the tourney in a one possession game with a minute left and you don't force them to make a shot.....I like Ryan as a coach, but I don't agree at all with what he did...oh well!!

There was 55 seconds left - with a 35 second shot clock, I'm sure Ryan didn't want to take the chance of NC scoring to go up 5 with 20 seconds left... AND then the Badgers still would have only had 4 team fouls, and there wouldn't have been enough time left to get 2 scores, and all the fouls that was necessary to send NC to the line...

I agreed with the strategy - heck, they fouled Felton - who is only a 66% shooter - and he drained 6 straight - who'd have guessed? Gotta give him the credit for making them with the game on the line...

Way,Way to early to put UNC at the line.......should have fouled to get to the limit they play "D" at least once.........Then when they need threes they go for layup's .......Hard to figure.......

I agree to foul to get to #6 and then play "D" that way if they do make a shot, you hurry back down and try to score and if you don't, your next foul puts them in the one and one.....I understand the clock too although I feel pretty confident NC would've shot with a little time on the shot clock which would've left Wisky with between 20-30 seconds....which is plenty of time for multiple changes of possession.....I think it was the wrong strategy when you're the big underdog and all of the pressure is on the other guy.....but like you said, Felton 66% hit 6 in a row.....pretty good on his part for sure.....just would've been nice for Ryan to let the best defensive team in the big ten clamp down and try to force one NC stop instead of letting them shoot freebies. Good luck in the second game to all!! :mj14:

Actually, I thought Bo was justing having them foul to get to #6 and then play D - that way he had outs if things didn't go well - I was surprised that they went ahead and took #7... but they probably had Felton scouted and saw he couldn't make FT's - but he proved them wrong, didn't he???

Even if he only hits 1 of the first 2 they go up by 4 and they are forced to foul again with less time left......

thats exactly what i thought (take the 2 or 3 quick fouls needed to get them into the bonus on the next foul....but then play it straight up from there)

whats puzzling is that wisconsin prides themselves on their defense. yet when their season came down to getting one stop, ryan had no confidence. makes no sense.

even if carolina did score a 2 on that possession, its a 5 point game with still 20 seconds left -- which is a ton of time. and thats WORST case. instead, he gave them free points and really feel he cost them the game. not something id expect from ryan

The tactict of fouling was a good one.

According to todays Wisconsin State Journal they did'nt want to foul in that situation. Kammron Taylor's 3-point shot made the score 81-78 with 55.3 seconds left. The Badgers then went to full-court pressure and committed 2 fouls to reach six team fouls -one short of the bonus situation. They didn't want to foul, but Taylor pressured Raymond Felton in the back-court and was called for the foul. "I don't know where the ref saw the foul," Taylor said. "I think he was just anticipating the foul." Ryan said he thought Kam got a little to aggressive and went in with his chest.
