Why did Arizona players and coaches stomp and spit on the Eye of the Tiger at midfield prior to this game?

First of all, it speaks volumes of the leadership of that program.

Secondly, it awakes a sleeping giant. There are some angry players on that sideline right now according to 870am sideline reporter.

Unfortunately, there are alot of classless teams out there. I'm a huge SEC fan so I hope LSU stomps their asses.

It was reported by LSU Sports sideline reporter, Jordie Holpern(sp?) . He explained that he saw the incident --players and at least 1 coach stomped and spit on the EYE at midfield-- and then explained that the LSU players on the sideline were furious.

When I hear or read more I will post link.

You would think Zona would have learned a lesson from a fellow PAC10 school a week ago who did the same thing at UT and got their a$$ handed to them as well.

Heck after watching my Vols tonight, if Cal would have come in polite like AF, they might have had a chance!

As part of your self imposed suspension I want you to drop the LSU avatar and replace it with a MILDCAT avatar. I am suprised a great capper like you underestimated the heart of the LSU tigers. National Televised game, chance to show the Nation how superior the SEC is, Now why u wanna go and do dat?

BATON ROUGE -- On Saturday, the Arizona Wildcats gathered as a team before the game and jumped up and down on the eye, while the crowd booed.

"You can make of it what you will, but it's no big deal," said Arizona head coach Mike Stoops. "We do that every game. We do that at Oregon, we do it at USC, we do it anywhere.

"At the end of arm-ups we punt from our end zone and everyone covers it and just gathers around the guy that catches it," he explained. "It'd definitely no big deal. It's just part of our pre-game. Maybe we'll just start having them catch the ball at the 45."

The Wildcats stomped on the eye of the Tiger at midfield shortly before the game, but the Tigers never blinked and ran over Arizona so quickly that if you blinked you missed it.

"They really did stomp on our eye this time," said Zenon, who also returned an interception for a touchdown early in the game last week. "They disrespected us. You do that at our house, and it gives you more fire than you had before."

dandy don:

The LSU Tigers defeated Arizona 45-3 last night in a game that LSU dominated from the very start. The Tigers were very well prepared to play the game and received extra incentive before the game started when the Arizona team gathered at mid-field, stomped the ?Eye of the Tiger? and made gestures toward Tiger fans sitting on the West side of Tiger Stadium before heading to their dressing room minutes before the start of the game. In my opinion, this was a very STOOP-id thing to do, and was a reflection of the character of Arizona's head coach.
