Can anyone explain to me why these managers do this?....Leadoff double for the white sox....and they dont bunt him over....you have the top of the order coming up....where Cabrera flies out, Which would have scored the run....now they have 2 outs and runner still on 2nd!

Stupid move, no reason for it. Thome should NOT have pinch hit there. Call him back and get the bunt down. Now we lose

Yup....and now they lose....when it would have just been tied back up...or Jenks would have been in and the game would have been over.

ozzie has done this stupid shit all year

He can't manage base runners or try to maufacture runs ever. He did the same crap yesterday but they were hitting a ton of HR's so it went unnoticed. He can leave anytime he's ready. For all his big talk, he does a horrible job of managing his roster, and favors any veterans.

that answer is fairly simple. It's because american league managers are not used to being in-game on-field strategists because of the DH. Look at Torre, everyone gives him such credit. His genius was managing the "players" and getting their respect not managing the "game" per se. he never has been a successful manager in the NL.

National league is real baseball.
