the jan 1 bowls pretty much stink other than the two bcs bowls played later in the day.
we can thank the ncaa and the bcs for ruining what used to be a great day of college football......now it's made up of games pitting 4 loss, 3rd-5th place teams that dont interest many people.
If the kid from Indiana doesn't drop that ball in the end zone Iowa would have ended the year at 6-6 with 4 straight losses--Michigan and Penn State deserve the better bowls because Iowa stunk it up the last month of the season.
Watched the Ferentz press conference after the announcement of where Iowa was playing and as hard as he tried he couldn't convince me that they are looking forward to playing in Tempe. Missouri minus whatever for me...

These bowl games are pretty unappealing. When you take teams like Oklahoma and Nebraska out of the mix and pit Boise against another small conference opponent, YOU FUCK EVERYTHING UP!!!! Are these people retarded? GOD DAMN IT! How hard is it tom make interesting match ups??? You have 16 teams everyone wants to see play each other. Every time you take oneout and put them against a garbage opponent, you take that 16 team pool down by two....since another top team will play someone who sucks. As much as I hate Ohio State, please put them up against someone who matters. I know it is BCS bullshit, but MSU v Arky and OSU v. Alabama is way more interesting.
PS: Whoever decided Washington v Nebraska needed a rematch should be fired.

Nebraska vs. Washington was the Big 12's parting eff you gift to the Huskers. Not only is it a rematch, but they are playing again next season in the non-conference slate. Everything pointed to a Iowa/Nebraska match-up in the Insight, but the conference commish flexed his influence so that the Insight Bowl wasn't a 3 hour promo for the Big Ten given Nebraska's switch and that Iowa will be their year-end match-up going forward.

I agree. The old system was much better. These locked in matchups are such BS. When I was a kid I used to enjoy all the rumors about where these teams were going. Now its just shit. I know its been said but BSU vs Utah? Are you fucking kidding me?

Boise did get the shaft but screw em. Running a hurry up offense in the third and fourth quarters leading by 28 to pump up the score and screw the blue turf as well. They LOST to Nevada, I know they are a top 25 team but that is all they had to do to get a BCS game.
I wish Boise had to plat quality comepetition on a more consistent basis.
