It really makes us count the blessings.
A pain doctor gave her a pain med that she was allergic to at one point and she swelled up with 22 lbs of water weight. We went to her gen doctor and she sent us to the emergency room. They thought she was having heart attack, or cancer symptoms. Scared the holy chit out of us. They kept her for two days before they figured it out.
Then she had a appendix attack. And because she was taking morphine the pain was dulled . We were staying with friends out of state and thought it was back pain. We finally got her to the hospital and they did the scans.
She literally almost died as it slightly burst and was infecting her system. It was a total nightmare.
Scott, thankful to hear things are improving. So sorry you all had to endure this, and will continue to have to. Sounds like things are going a bit better. My sincere best wishes to you, your wife, family and friends. My wife and I are about to run out of our COBRA coverage, and finding new insurance is very difficult. She had a malignant melanoma less than five years ago, with a couple of not-so-good biopsies since, so her getting insurance for a few more months is going to be rough. I'm going in for a prostate biopsy on Wednesday, as there is a node on my prostrate and hard area that they want to check out. All my blood work and PSA testing came out great, so hopefully it's nothing. Of course concerned that if it is something, it's going to show up at exactly the time our current coverage is running out. Scary times. Sorry to highjack the thread, just on our minds right now.
Godspeed to you.
