Medium Size Play:

Jacksonville Jaguars -1.5 over Steelers

This matchup pits two teams headed in the opposite direction as the Jaguars have won 6 of their last 8 heading down the stretch with one of the losses being just last week with their starters resting and the other being a 3 point loss at Indy in week 13...the Jaguars are also 7-1 ATS in their last 8 on grass and 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games overall...on the flip side...the Steelers have faded badly down the stretch having lost 3 of their last 4 SU and are just 3-4 SU since week 11...the Steelers are also just 2-6 ATS in their last 8 overall...when these two met a few weeks ago the Jaguars beat the Steelers 29-22 but the score doesn't indicate how one sided this matchup was...the Jags held a 421-217 Tot yds advantage...almost doubled the Steeler FD's 25-13 and won the time of possession battlle 37:39 - 22:21...plus...the Steelers are banged up having lost Willie parker since their last matchup with Big ben being banged up and last but not least the Steelers are down to their 3rd string left tackle Trey Essex because of injuries...need I say any more???

why do you think the line is so low on jax? everybody knows pitts problems and they already beat them. The only think i can think is home-field adv...

The Steelers were three point favs the last time these two met and even though this could be considered a revenge game for the Steelers the Jags are currently -2.5 as the spread has moved again...that's a 5.5 pt swing from the last time these two met...if it weren't for the home-field the Steelers would likely be at least a TD dog in Jax...I think the linesmaker has made an adjustment in the line considering the Steelers injuries but not enough for the Steelers to cover this game...this one will move to Jax -3 before the weekend is out.

thanks for the reply, i also think this line will move to 3 and it would be 7 if it was in jax, but either way i dont think the line will matter, gl with your play, might end up betting jax too.

Small Play:

Seattle Seahawks -3 (bought the 1/2)
over Redskins

I'm going against the public and most of the media in this one...the Redskins are a sentimental favorite after the death of Sean Taylor and have won 4 in a row with Todd Collins at the helm...but...they must travel cross country and play in one of the toughest places to play in the league where crowd noise will be a factor...lost in the shuffle is the fact that the Skins are playing with a backup RG and a backup RT and will face a Seahawks "D" that ranked 4th in the league in sacks in 2007...I expect Collins to face the heat on Saturday...the Redskins will need to run the ball effectively to have a chance in this one and face a Seahawks "D" that ranks 12th overall in the league vs the run...on the flip side...the Seahawks running game has improved over the past several weeks as Shaun Alexander seems to have his legs back...but...I expect the Seahawks to use a bunch of 4 wide sets with their talented WR core and spread the Skins out to create mismatches in coverage versus a thin Redskins secondary...the Skins rank near the bottom of the league in both interceptions and sacks...so I feel the Seahawks offense could have it's way with the Skins and I expect Wr Deion Branch to play in this game...Bottom Line - The Seahawks have outscored their opponents 27-14 at home this season and are the least penalized team in the league...they also have a big turnover margin swing of plus 15 (Sea +10, Wash -5) over the Skins...the Seahawks beat the Skins 20-10 at home in the 2005/06 playoffs 2 years ago and are a team that is flying under the radar right now in the NFC....plus the weather is usually lousy in Seattle at this time of the year... but the Seahawks are used to it having played in these conditions...Seattle advances to the second round of the playoffs.

Seattle is:

6-2 ATS last 8 games as a fav
6-2 ATS last 8 vs the NFC
6-2 ATS last 8 games overall

Wash is:

4-0 ATS last 4 games overall
3-7-1 ATS last 11 on field turf

Home Team is 5-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings

I have no idea  why I started a seperate thread for this play.

2-0 yesterday and taking the $$$ and running like a Greyhound today!

Passing on today's action but IF I were to play anything I'd side with the Giants and Chargers...the G-men will pound the ball with Brandon Jacobs against a smallish Tampa 2 scheme that ranked just 17th versus the run this season...plus...the last time these two met Plaxico Burress made a fool out of Bucs Cb Ronde Barber and it could happen again today because not only does Barber lack speed but he also is giving up 8 inches to Burress...the Bucs D will also be without LB Cato June...IF Manning doesn't turn the ball over the G-Men will win outright...but that is easier said than done...on the flip side Garcia will be hounded by a Giants pass rush and a D-Line that has a favorable matchup against the Bucs O-Line...the Bucs NEED to run the ball effectively to win this game today...the Bucs are tough at home...but the G-Men have won 7 straight on the road...if I knew that Manning would play the way he did last week vs the Pats this one would be a no-brainer...so with all that said I'd tease the Giants with the Chargers and take my chances that way...but...I'll pass on the action instead and enjoy the games.

Lean Only To:

2 game 6 point teaser of:

NY Giants +9
&
Chargers -4

I should have dropped 10 Dimes on this one... but ...I didn't want to put my New Year's Resolution ( of not losing a Play in the Playoffs) at risk!

I'll settle for 2-0 as a start!
