Can she play better than she played yesterday? Her putting can definitely improve, but every other aspect was spectactular.

What's everyone think?

I think she will. People are saying well, if it dries out today shes going to have more trouble. I disagree. I think today she will be less tenative on her putts, and if the course dries out its only going to help her more on her drives by maybe taking a club or two off her approach shot. I like the anology that she is playing this like the men would play a US Open, hitting it down the middle, not taking chances, and waiting for birdie putts. If she could have made some yesterday I think easily she could have been -3 or even -4.

I also gotta say, I just got my handicap down into the single digits, but man I love her golf swing. It just looks so effortless yet she is so damn accurate with her shots.

Nobody needs to take this post as knocking Annika. I have supported her from the beginning, and I think she did awesome yesterday.

BUT--I feel that she can not perform as well with her irons today. She had two really good breaks that worked out for her benefit. I think her putting will improve, but it will only be good enough to squeek by with par for the day.

My vote is even par.

True, she got two ridiculous bounces yesterday, especially on that par 3 where she could have just as easily been plugged under the lip and staring 4 or 5 in the face. I guess I weigh that with the 3 or 4 putts @ 6 feet she missed and say hey it alll balances out. But I wont argue with even par, I think 69-72 is her window today.

Either way, I'm on record as being dead against her playing and I admit she has turned me around. I was really rooting for her yesterday and I will be rooting for her today as well.

I was thinking she would have more problems with the rain.

The fact that it's dry seems to me she would get longer rolls out of her drives giving her shorter irons to the green. Time will only tell.

She looks to be in good form so far. Made a sand save on the first hole. That couldn't have been the way she wanted to start after not hitting a single bunker yesterday.

Sand save 5 footer on the first, drains the 7 footer for birdie on the 2nd.

Long way to go, 3 hardest holes at 3-4-5

Gotta say I am enjoying the hell out of watching her play. Great ad by Calloway Golf as well.

I'll tell you who really screwed themselves in this whole deal.... CBS!!! They have contract rights to air the Colonial over the weekend, but without all of the drama over Annaika, no one will really be watching...at least not near as many had she made the cut. If she makes the cut, CBS would have cashed in this weekend, but with her missing the cut, looks like USA network was the real winner...and CBS - the big loser. ;)
