STEEL CITY SELECTIONS said:
with the TIMEOUT call he made with clock running, he had an agenda to cover last week.....anybodies guess what he needs to do this week...similar line/matchup....my feeling is lou. blows em out this week and he wont need to worry about any cover controversy...im passing on the game...its hard enuff to handicap all angles of a matchup, i dont need to factor in a crooked coach in into the equation...who will possibly fuk things up for u.
gluck, burgh...

I'm sitting this one out tonight for this EXACT reason, think of all the VARIABLES we incorporate into picking a side. Take all those factors, then throw in the fact that the COACH is making last minute moves to COVER/NOT COVER whatever his agenda is, and thats why I dont bet large spreads. In fact, thats why I dont like FAVORITES period. Not saying I would bet on Rutgers, but do you thnk Rutgers coach gives a hootin-hoo-haha about the spread tonight?
People are NUTS if you dont think this goes on at ALL successful programs, especially when playing lopsided games. Just b/c Louisville's coach went about it in a NOTICEABLE way and drew attention to it, doesnt mean other programs arent sneaky enough to HIDE IT better.
there is money to be made in handicapping games, thats for sure. I didnt bet that Louisville game last week, but if I had my $$$ on PITT, and watched that 4th quarter, it would have made me withdraw every dime I had and never place another bet. A 21 point line is a "tossup" either way, being on the right side and having a "somewhat" close game where your team deserved to cover, only to lose with that BS would be TORTURE
