William&Mary -6.5 over Towson
WM has won 5 of 6.Towson has lost 6 str and is 1-11 in the CAA.Two teams going into different directions.WM has Hess who is outstanding.A 6'8 kid that shoots the 3,short range jumper,posts down,passes and rebounds.Is a leader in almost every CAA offensive catogory and 40th in the nation in scoring.
Watched him destroy Hofstra after being down by 14 only to win by 10.Around him is a solid cast of players.They run motion offense like a clinic.Down screens,back screens and use 7'0 Duggins as a point center.He is a 260 pound mountain who sets picks and then roles to the basket.
This team doesn't turn the ball over but what impressed me most with them is there passing.Everyone can pass including the big guy.They rank 2 in the conf. in assits.Jenkins and Rivers can score.Howell a frosh came off the bench to score 18 the other day.
Towson has some big boys but they are slow.Gilchrist is ther best player avg 11 pts.Hamm and Dixon are avg under 10. Allen there top player in steals and 3rd in scoring might not play tonite.He missed the past 2 games.This team can't score or play defense.They give up over 71 pts a game.
In there 1st meeting WM won at home 74-55.But the score was 26-8 with 9 minuts left in the 1st half.And with 8 minuts left the score was 66-32.It became garbage time and Towson outscored WM 23-8 to end the game.
WM has had trouble at Towson.Never has beaten them there.But Hess and co will win this game on the road by double digits.
Towson is a poor shooting team.They will have trouble with WM's 2-3 defense.And Towson won't be able to stop Hess.
Niagara +2.5 over Canisius
Purple are on a run and the Griffs are sliding.Inside play of Mendez and Darden outside will stop Dux and Mallory.This series always seems to split.Griffs already beat Purple by 20.Now go the other way.Niagara has been playing better ball.Beating Fairfield was a big win.
Marist +2.5 over St Pete
Nobody has an inside game.Marist will play zone but they better overplay Clark or he will have 50 pts tonite.Think Bennett and Ellerbee can handle the gd spot and Young inside and Eppehimer the perimeter.Peter is more athletic but no home court with 800 fans watching.
Marquette -3 over DePaul..if Pat Foster was coaching it would be a love game.Mar. has to much talent.
Mizzou -3.5 over Texas AM..cannot see the Aggies staying with them.
Boston College +3.5 over Prov..
Purdue -7.5 over Northwestern...after getting spanked by Minny this team wakes up.
Florida -11 over Miss...close for awhile and then it s all she wrote
