If anyone who lives in KY saw this kid play HS football, was he any good? As big as he is, with his hands nad quickness, long levers and runs the bkball court, how would he be in the NFL leaping over 6'2 corners and safeties?

I remember Antonio Gates playing power forward for Kent and Thomas (Denver TE) play for Portland St, but can you imagine Stein playing WR in the NFL?

Input?

Thanks!

He is from Kansas. I have seen some HS football video and they just lofted it up and he would go over the top and catch it. The video i saw looked unstoppable in HS.

Kentucky has had a lot of basketball players over the years that I would love to have seen playing football.

He is a great story...

He is a great story...

He was taken in by Will Shields in the KC area because of some things... He really is a good kid and will be a great character addition to any NBA team.

Love Will Shields. Met him at UNL years ago. He's got a great kid too that may get a shot at the NBA, probably the "D" league!! Stein will be a decent NBA player for sure, but man, with his athleticism and he's played FB before, why not take a gamble on him? That would be epic!

A guy that tall WB; no matter how athletic, they would break him into before long.

Personally think he could be decent at WR in NFL... I watched my Chiefs this season and trust me, he would be have our 2nd or 3rd option for sure!

Oh Yeah

Oh Yeah

I don't want to contradict the professional scout Sushi who apparently has told us exactly what we should think of WCS.

Here is some video of WCS in high school playing Football. Fun to watch.

He looks a little slower than you would want for a top WR but the way he uses his height to catch some of those passes is impressive and probably would make up for the speed. I think he will be a good NBA player. Not great but good. He has good hands, great athleticism...
I like his talent and believe that if WCS had played vs UCONN In the NC game that the outcome would have been different.

He's built kinda sinewy, tough skinned, and if I were still scouting would project him as a special needs receiver, sorta like what KC Chiefs had years ago, Morris Stroud, 6'10 250, would block FG/XP attempts and get the short yardage heave over the DBs.

But yeah, injuries in football and the way they hit, he'd probably get hurt, but he appears pretty tough so far in college hoops, albeit most players are smaller and not as wide or strong as in the NBA.

Good stuff folks!!

Sushi...

Sushi...

Obviously, you are not looking at technique... The way he uses his body... His senior year he had 57 catches for 1140 yards and 14 TD's... That's 20 yards per catch.

Olathe Northwest is actually a 6A school in a tough division in KC and he helped them earn a playoff birth in only the school's 7th year in existence.

Anyway- WCS probably could not make it in the NFL because he is likely to have a knee taken out. He was very good at football. Blocked multiple kicks and did very well. He will be in the NBA and he will bring high character to a team. He is a GREAT guy. He is humble and will do great as a role model to people.

He will be a lottery pick and have a good NBA career.
