Thanks for all the plays over the last three seasons BB. I immediately started following your system when I joined back in January of 2005 and my own handicapping follows the same logic as your system...at a high level, my plays (and yours) focus on lines that seem to be at a disadvantage to one side or the other. The ULL/NO game is one tonight as you pointed out (I took NO) and the Tulane/Buffalo game last week was another obvious example. There are also subtle ones as well which I play since I like the action, but that is the general thought which is why I always compare your plays to mine.
Bryanz-Great post as some have already mentioned. No one is telling anyone else to take their picks here...if some don't have time to do their own handicapping for whatever reason and just want to follow or fade, that is their own perogative. I never get how there are some members here who have nothing but praise for someone they followed and won...but as soon as they follow a losing day where they spent their whole bankroll, they start bashing.
Even when I first started sports betting and basically compiled several seasoned cappers' picks and played the common picks, I tracked the individual records of each capper so I knew for myself which ones to follow and which not to. For me, this was at least somewhat satisfying that I was doing something for myself and had some system to my madness.
Why in the world some don't like to learn why a play is play is beyond me. I personally like to learn what I am doing with my money in case one day BB is not around or even Madjacks is not around...in that case, I don't have to then start guessing sides which is what a lot of the betting public is doing. I treat handicapping lines as a hobby in addition to making (or losing :shrug
some extra cash, I do my own work and then compare to a select few on madjacks. As you mentioned, to try and beat the linesmaker, it takes a lot of time and passion to do it right.
Specifically to the Vol fan...first, good luck on New Years Day, as Joe Pa's Nits will take care of your Vols. Second, why someone who has a merely 30+ posts thinks they have credibility to come bashing another post that has hundreds of views/day is mind-boggling. I am assuming you were banned under a different name since you knew about the deep dive in BB's system last year. But if the purpose of your post was actually a warning, there is a much more PC way of going about things...why not pose a question to BB like "Hey BB, could you speak a bit to how your system went sour last year towards the 2nd half of the season?". By doing this, you not only engage BB to explain what he tweaked but it also does put the warning out there to everyone to play the picks cautiously. Why you or others find it cute and funny to bash others' posts is way beyond my comprehension.
