Two teams heading in opposite direction meet tonight on the Smurf Turf and this one's going to be Blowout City as Boise State will score this home win and cover. After a pair of medicore road wins at Idaho (by 16 points) and New Mexico State (12 points), the Broncos will more than fired up to lay a huge number on this Bulldog team that is owed one from the Broncos. That's because last yera, Fresno scored a 27-7 home win over visiting Boise State and the first year Bronco coach Chris Petersen (offensive coordinator last year) and his team have not forgotten. Nor have they forgotten that they possess one of college football's best home field advantages as Boise State has 34 straight at home. They're 9-2 ATS in their last 11 regular seaosn games at home including 7-2 in conference games. The favorite has covered five of the last six in this series and the chalk is going to score the no brainer win and cover tonight.
Fresno State has dropped six straight on the scoreboard and are 0-9-1 ATS in their last 10 games dating back to last seaosn. Injuries and underchievement have plagued Pat Hill's bunch this season. They faught hard in a 32-point loss at LSU this past Saturday night, but that game against an SEC power left the Bulldogs battered and bruised and now they're back on the road in tough spot again. Maybe because Hawaii racked up 68 points on them less than two weeks agao, but Fresno struggles on defense and is ranked 118th out of 119 teams in pass efficiency defense. They haven't even intercepted a pass this season (and only have four fumble recoveries)! Boise is ballanced on offense with running back Ian Hohnson (147.6 ypg) and quarterback Jared Zabransky (60 percent completion, 13 TDs, 4 INTs). They're third in the nation in scoring (39.8 ppg) and This is the same Fresno State team that 3 weeks ago lost at home to Hawaii 68-37. Now, this might sound pretty simple but if Hawaii can put up 68 on this Fresno State team, I am pretty sure Boise can get over 50 on the blue carpet tonight.
