i see a ton of people on the padres today. note, i am a die hard padre fan, but will always offer my honest advice on whether to take or go against them. today, i don't necessarily say to NOT take them, but i'm curious as to why everyone is on them. value?, not really at +105 or so. i'm not sure why lawrence is our opening day starter, it should be peavy. bochy is probably trying to boost lawrence's confidence, AND he does have good lifetime W/L & ERA records versus LA. He did not have a good spring and struggled with location, 1-3, with 22 innings pitched, 49 hits allowed and 26 ER, ERA 10.64.
So what am I saying? just tread lightly. Their offense will be great this year, so i can definitely see them winning today, but nomo, while his lifetime numbers against us are not great, he scares me sometimes (must be the windup).
Also, i see a few people on the under. Just keep in mind, lawrence will walk a few, my guess is probably 4 or 5 today.
