We all have house guests, and parties to give and attend, so I want to throw out two really good choices for Cabernet wine to serve that will not break the bank.

I love to bring out the good stuff from the cellar this time of year to share with great friends and people that appreciate a good glass of wine, and to see how well it is aging. But for those that just want a "glass" of wine, or for your everyday drinking (no KOD, don't drink wine EVERY day, but most, yes), try the following:

Kalbarri from Southeast Australia, found at Kroger and supposedly one of their "brand wines" they purchase. This week, regularly 10.99, but now 2 bottles for 10.00. Don't doubt me on this, trust me.

Also, Snapping Turtle Cab from California, same great berry taste, and enjoyable to drink. Also, this week, 2 for 10.00.

Just grab a few bottles for the season, you will be happy you did, and your friends will love it. Love to hear what you guys and gals think. Merry Christmas!

Jack and IE, we still need a smilie that is toasting or drinking white wine. Any help?

Charles Shaw aka Two Buck Chuck ? $1.99 :SIB

Trader Joe's wine, not too bad for the cheap price. We used to buy a bottle here and there but it gets old quickly.

If you want a good cab, try Canyon Oaks which is a California wine (not sure if Napa) but it's priced at $4.99 and it's so good we often buy it by the case.

As usual, penguinfan is an idiot and adds nothing.

Vinnie, everyone knows Charles Shaw label, and frankly, wines do not compare. This post was simply to help some out that might want it.

I think Kroger only sells wine in a few states  they don't here

if I see them somewhere I give them a try :0008

Chilean Reds & Argentinean Reds are good cheap wines too

Marietta Cellars--either their basic Old Vine Red-on #58 now--$11 a bottle very good or their Angeli Curvee-$25--the best.:00hour

Good deal, guys! Looking forward to seeing you.

Chuck: The Snapping Turtle is only sold in Georgia Kroger stores, so I didn't get to buy that one. I did mix up a case of the Kalbarri. 6.99 per bottle.....good stuff! Thanks for sharing!

Glad you liked it. Not bad for parties and everyday quaffing. How did your vintage turn out this year?
