William, happy to help, just need to clarify if everyone drinks sweet wine or do you have some that might like a change of pace? I admit I had to look up Oliver's just now, and they have other types. Did you get all sweet, or did you try several different wines from there?
I found it much to sweet ... taste was ok just way to sweet ... yes , a change of pace .
To steer you in the under 10 dollars a bottle and still very good wine, you can do Columbia Crest Grand Estates Chardonnay, or Clod du Bois Chardonnay. For your better value reds, you can also do Chateau Souverain Cabernet, or even Bogle Cabernet and Bogle Zinfandel. For true value if you do not mind a boxed wine, I highly recommend the Bota Box Redvolution which is a perfect step up. There are many other choices to choose from, just ask retailer for help.
Now keep in mind, with the wines above you are just taking a notch up in price from your 7 dollar Sangria, with the typical Cabernet and Chardonnay wines that anywhere USA will have in stores. Your guests will be perfectly fine with your choices. If you want to be in the 10-15 dollar per bottle it opens up a bunch of other choices. Just ask your wine merchant for some "good value suggestions". Hope that gets you started.
