After watching another 1 loss team who was deemed to be top 10 worthy get pummelled...

What about the Wisky Badgers? I know they are not a popular pick... only ranked 18th... but are 7-1 on the season.. only loss AT Michigan.. and they were in the game in the 4th quarter, but lost by 14...

I realize that the Big 10 in considered "down" this year... but the Badgers have been crushing teams week in and week out....

Shouldn't they get more love from the polls and be closer to the top 10?

This Clemson team was highly ranked.. and then they go and play an unranked team and get spanked...

At least the Badgers lost on the road to the #2 team in the nation as their only loss.

Am I dreaming, or is Wisky a legimitate top 10 team (maybe higher)?

What are your thoughts?

tough team to figure out. they didnt bother scheduling anyone out of conference (although its not their fault jacobs left for the pros and made the bg/wisky game anticlimactic). i think a lot of people are skeptical since theyve beaten one team with a winning record. another rout this week might not even change that. theyre better than some teams ranked ahead of them. but the schedule kills them.

I don't know what the hell you're talking about... we added Buffalo this year, dammit!!!!

In all seriousness, I've said many times this is my alma mater and this is the one team that I simply can't look at objectively because of that bond to the university and team.

That being said, I think they ARE a top 10 team, but shouldn't be ranked in the top 10, at least at the moment. Simply haven't proved it yet. I do think they should be ahead of Notre Dame, but those 1-loss SEC teams have had to battle a lot more, and IMO deserve the higher ranking. There is a good chance this team could end up 11-1 without a single win over a ranked opponent. If that's the case, the jury will still be out until the Capital One Bowl.

I have them at 14 but I'm a homer to. If they win big again this week. By that I mean 6 points or more over the number. Then they could move up to 11 or more depending on other out comes. Clemson last night was a start in that direction. On the other side of that. If they would lose to a team like ILL they would drop 6 to 7 spots.

If Iowa QB Drew Tate is back and healthy the Badgers will have a tough time getting out of Iowa City on Nov 11th with a win.
Had not been very impressed with my Hawkeyes this season until I saw(in-person) the effort they put forth in the loss to Michigan last Saturday.
How they lost to the Hooisers is beyond me, but if Tate can play and play effectively starting next week against the Wildcats, I really can't see Iowa losing again this season.
That game with Bucky is also Iowa's 3rd straight home game before the season finale at Minneapolis against the gophers, giving the team plenty of rest and a nice routine of practising and playing at home without the hassles of having to travel to an away game.
Kind of like the Illini to keep this one close, but not enough to make it a play at this time. Good luck in whatever you play tomarrow.

WISKY HAS A WEAK SCHEDUELE NOT ONE REAL QUALITY WIN- THAT IS WHY THEY ARE WHERE THERE AT- THEY Have a very good team BUT IF YOU DO NOT PLAY ANYBODY ITS TOUGH TO BE RANKED HIGHER THAN WERE THEY ARE AT

I think Wisconsin is a top 10 team for sure. I hear the arguments here that they haven't played anyone but they can't control that. All I know is they kick the crap out of everyone they play.

Their loss to Michigan was closer than the final score indicated. In fact, Michigan got away with a couple of blantant clips/holds (TV replayed and the announcers pointed out the missed infractions) on a punt return in the first half that allowed them to score and tie the game.

Plus I agree the SEC is a good conference, but I think they get too much hype. If you reacll, Wisconsin played a so-called "great" and "faster" Auburn team last year in the Bowl Game and smacked the crap out of them. The game wasn't even close. The reason I remember this? Because I took Auburn, gave the points and watched in horror as I lost my ass that game.

I also believe they are a top 10 team in the nation right now but they should not be ranked their yet. I say if we play Michigan at a neutral site right now we either lose by less than 7 or win. I think this team is that good. 2nd best defense in the Big 10 behind Michigans. Hill is a bruiser and Stocco is one of the most underrated QB's in the nation. They would beat Notre Dame. This team should not lose another game the rest of the year. Iowa is going to be tough though. Especially if Tate is back in full health. That statdium is a damn challenge to play in especially at night

I think it would be foolish to overlook the Penn St game next week and certainly an away game at Iowa will be tough. If they can get thru the regular season with one loss, they are definitely top ten material.

Went to the Purdue game last week-end. The D was very solid in shutting down Purdue. The receivers had a few drops and in the first half Hill didn't have much room to run. If they play that way against Iowa it will be tough to come away with a win.

Certainly would be great to be able to meet up with ND in a bowl game. :toast:

Notre Dame would be lucky to score a TD against Wisconsin... Hopefully, they won't meet up. I would rather forfeit!

Yes in another thread i was worried much like the coach said. THEY might start thinking there GOOD> and that will bite you in the ass.
Also Redsfan said it right. Against Iowa will be tough going. I expect a loss.
