yes KU led wire2wire...that said, they also shot 60% from floor and over 50% from the 3...Mizzou, normally a pretty good FT shooting team, only made 19 of 32 from the line...I think if you look at these stats and realize what an abnormality they were, you can understand the statement that Mizz was in fact the right side...

ezpickin:

certainly not looking to draw anything out, but i think that statement is preposterous.

if missouri would have led the entire way, then kansas closed on a 10-0 run or something, then i could see it.

i know there are times when theres a wrong side covers- but not when a team thats favored never leads the whole game.

missouri got to the line way more than kansas, attempted more field goals....and got beat

Mort, (God rest his soul), had a saying 50% of the games are a coin toss even though you handicap them correctly, the other 50% you will win 60% of based on your handicap. That means out of two blocks of 50 games comprising 100 games played you will can expect the following results:

25-25 on the coin toss results on first block of 50 games that were capped correctly

and

30-20 on the other block of 50.

That holding true your 100 game record would land on 55-45 and 55% will make you money if your wager correctly.

right side, wrong side, the long run will take care of it IF you can handicap and IF, IF risk your funds correctly.

I think when we use the phrase "the right side" it means that if the exact 2 teams played in the same place tomorrow or the next day, you'd bet it the exact same way (as opposed to losing a game and then realizing there were some other factors you failed to consider and you wouldn't make that bet again). It's saying that you believe the team you bet would cover at least 6 out of 10 times against this team, in this situation. Today just happened to be one of the other 4.

It's the equivalent of saying, "hey, you did your homework and the play was solid; you just got beat"
