A few thoughts....
As much as I would love to gobble the pts here as I think starting DM is a mistake for the Eagles, I can't help but think about a couple of things that if nothing else eliminates the Falcons from my considerations for this weekend:
1) Both the Home Field and Bye Week advantages are simply huge. They play into trends that are in the ballpark 80%+ and 65%+. A Wild Card Doggie on the Road seems like a stiff task right from square one.
2a) Sure they looked good against the Pack, but the Falcons bandwagon forgets this team backed into the playoffs and looked real bad this year against teams with good "D's".
2b) The Eagle "D" this group is SPECIAL!
2c) They (The Falcons) couldn't even get up enough to score more than 16 pts in week #17 against the Brownies to earn themselves a playoff spot.
3) I recognize drawing equal money on both sides of a game is LV's primary raquet, HOWEVER, opening at 7 and or 7' in some spots after the Falcons stomped GB at GB just seems to me as if as if the boys in LV are BEGGING Joe Square to grab the points and run.
5) I just do not see the the Falcons scoring more than 16 pts at the most and 27-34 seems very possible for the Eagles regardless of the QB. Look what these guys did to the TB Deffense.
I am not sure I will/can back the Eagles and I am still flirting with a possible total play. However, one thing for sure for sure is the fact I have gotten my foot stuck in the "trap" one to many times and the only thing I know as of right now is I certainly will not be on the Falcons.
Although I do not really provide a pick here, I hope the insight stirs some thoughts or helps someone make a good decission.
