Stabler was picked off twice by Lester Hayes, including one that Hayes returned 20 yards for a score. The game also featured two other Oilers with big-time Oakland ties - Houston tight end Dave Casper and safety Jack Tatum.
Dec. 21, 1969 - AFL playoffs: Raiders 56, Oilers 7
The "Mad Bomber" - AFL MVP Daryle Lamonica - completed 13 of 17 passes for 276 yards and threw a Raiders postseason record six touchdowns in rookie coach John Madden's first playoff game. Rod Sherman and Fred Biletnikoff each caught two TD passes. The Raiders turned the ball over four times, but took it away from Houston five times. Houston quarterback Pete Beathard threw three interceptions, one that was returned 57 yards for a TD by George Atkinson to help Oakland build a 28-0 first-quarter lead.
Dec. 31, 1967 - AFL Championship: Raiders 40, Oilers 7
Hewritt Dixon ran for 144 yards, including a 69-yard TD, and Pete Banaszak gained 116 yards as Oakland ran the Eastern Division champs into the ground in front of 53,330 fans. George Blanda, waived by the Oilers before the season, kicked four field goals. A 17-yard TD pass from Daryle Lamonica to Dave Kocourek on a fake field-goal attempt with 18 seconds left in the first half gave Oakland a 17-0 halftime lead. Fullback Hoyle Granger, Houston's 1,100-yard rusher, gained just 19 yards on 14 carries.

LAST TIME, REGULAR SEASON: The Oakland Raiders beat the Titans, 52-25 on Sunday, September 29, 2002 at Network Associates Coliseum. Milestones were set by three Raiders - wide receivers Tim Brown and Jerry Rice and safety Rod Woodson.
Tim Brown became third in NFL history in career receptions, passing Andre Reed. Jerry Rice set an all-time NFL record for most yards from the line of scrimmage passing the late Walter Payton. Rod Woodson also made football history as the all-time NFL leader for interception return yards.
Woodson intercepted three Steve McNair passes; one, which set up a Raider score, one that Woodson returned for a TD, and the third, which sealed the victory. Rookie Phillip Buchanon had a stellar performance with an 83-yard punt return resulting in a touchdown, and an interception.
Safety Rod Woodson returned one of his three interceptions 81 yards for a TD.

The Raiders led 21-0 early after Rod Woodson picked off a pass setting up a 17-yard Charlie Garner touchdown reception to put the Raiders up 7-0. Buchanon followed with his 83-yard punt return for a touchdown. The Raiders forced another Titans punt, which Buchanon fielded and handed to RB Terry Kirby on a reverse. Kirby went 79 yards for a score to put the Raiders up 21-0.
The Titans countered with a 1-yard TD run late in the first quarter to make the score 21-7. The Raiders answered with a 9-play, 84-yard drive that was keyed by a 75-yard Jerry Rice reception from Rich Gannon and was capped off by a 28-yard Sebastian Janikowski field goal. The Raiders took a 31-7 lead on a 10-yard touchdown pass from Rich Gannon to Rice.
Rod Woodson started the third quarter with his second interception of the game. Woodson raced 82-yards for a touchdown. The Titans answered with a touchdown scoring run and pass.
They missed on both two-point conversion attempts The Raiders offense got back in gear with Gannon finding Jerry Porter on a 10-yard TD strike. Tim Brown capped off the Silver and Black's scoring barrage with a 41-yard catch and run for a touchdown, giving the Raiders a 52-25 lead with 5:21 to go in the game.
