Look for Seattle to be in a bit of a let down situation after such a crushing of LA last night. While I wouldnt expect them to lose to a 6-12 Cleveland squad, a letdown wouldnt be out of the ordinary, so be careful with the H1 plays. Seattle was 13-25 behind the arc last night, which is VERY unusual, so while I am not discounting what they did last night, nor am I ready to crown them the champs quite yet.

As I'm sitting in my International Finance class last night, I look around at about 25 other smart people and say "Am I the only one in here who's thinking about Tina Thompsons free throw percentage tonight?"

On another note, were my eyes deceiving me, or does Phoenix have a bit of a hottie running point for them? Maybe it was just a cute face, or maybe it was the beer, but I could have sworn there is something going on there...

Ace -- let me guarantee you that you were the only one thinking of Tina Thompson.

In terms of the Phoenix point guard: is that Pinto or Veal? I think maybe you had your beer goggles on.

I'm doing a lot more research, I got killed last night on my sides (1-2) but also on some halftime plays on HOU and LA.

So far I put some $$$ on SEA -3 last night and I'm looking hard at HOU -4.5.

Do you see any chance of a Seattle let down here? I mean 13-25 behind the arc is fire-iffic, I just see big letdown potential here.

Sue Bird attended the ESPYs Wednesday night, took an allnight flight to get home, played 33 minutes in an emotionally charged Seattle whooping of LA.

First play of the day:

Ace --

I do see the chance of a let-down. The line opened at SEA -4 and it's now at -6. At six, maybe some value on CLE. Sorry but I'm not putting any money on CLE.

I took SEA -3 last night as the LA game had just started.

Biggest mistake last night was when I took LA -4.5 second half not taking the middle when it went to -9.5. Huge and costly mistake.

Still like HOU to bounce back. SAC has their stars back, but they struggled to beat a bad CLE team yesterday.

Neither, might have been Grubin, but I didnt get enough of a good look at her. She's Yuogslavian, but her hair is really, really bright blonde. Then again, maybe I did and need to stop actually watching these games in person.

I mean, sometimes watching womens hoops is just plain painful.

Injuries/activations?

Injuries/activations?

Does Houston have any injuries tonight? Does Sacramento have any players coming back?

Houston coming off a loss and only -4.5 sounds very good.

I lost some confidence last night but coming back with one BEST BET for tonight:

BEST BET: Houston -4.5

Houston got beat in the final minute last night at Phoenix 58-52. The Comets were down the whole game and a late game rally tied the game at 52 but PHO hit a couple of big shots and pulled away.

The loss ended Houston's 10 game winning streak.

The bottom line is that HOU didn't play that well (36% FG and 18 TOs) while PHO played above thier normal level of play (46% from the field including 44% from the arc). But HOU certainly didn't get blow out like LA; they held their own on the Mercury's home court, which is ranked #4 in terms of home court advantage in the league.

SAC beat CLE 71-69 in a see-saw game. SAC had stars Yolanda Griffith and Ticha Penichiero back and both played significant minutes and contributed to the victory.

That was only Griffith's second game of the season.

But Monarch fans shouldn't start celebrating too soon: HOU is one of the best teams in the league while CLE without Rizzotti (she did play 7 minutes yesterday) is one of the worst.

Penichiero had an MRI this morning on her back which IMO makes her a bit of a question mark for tonight's game.

Griffith played 34 minutes last night and must be a bit sore as that was her first real game in over a month.

SAC is rated #2 in terms of home court advantage but HOU has proved they can win on the road, especially vs lesser teams like SAC.

This is both teams' last game before the All-Star break, I think HOU will want to go into the break with a win and they definitely don't want to lose two in a row.

Ace -- In case you didn't read catch it:

Rockers point guard Jennifer Rizzotti was activated just before the start of (last night's) game, and played nearly seven minutes late in the second half. In her first offensive sequence, she threaded a pass to Rushia Brown for an easy basket but she tweaked her right ankle again with 2:55 remaining, and had to return to the bench.

Ace -- I think the play here is not on CLE as the side but on the Under. No way SEA shoots like that two nights in a row, and CLE without Rizzotti will be hard pressed to score much more than 50 vs a decent SEA D.

Yeah I caught that at the bottom of the box score after my play.

Didnt sound serious, and before my play I didnt even know she was back, hopefully she is back tonight. If not, play and pray.
