Quote of the Day
“Holdouts are brutal, man. I’ll say this for an agent or a player who has never experienced it, I don’t think you can tell them enough how brutal it is. Don’t push that button unless you really [plan to] go all the way.”

*************************************************

Thursday’s Den: Nobody asked me, but……..

— Green Bay Packers are a publicly-owned team, so they divulge their earnings every year; this past year, the Packers and their 539,529 stockholders (lot of stockholders) banked a check from the NFL worth $432.6M, which means since every team got one of those, the league’s total revenue was roughly $13B, that’s BILLION, with a B.
Which is how they can afford to pay Roger Goodell $30 or $40M a year; he is the captain that keeps the golden yacht afloat.

— Tennessee Titans QB Will Levis is going to have season-ending shoulder surgery; he hopes to be ready for the 2026 season. Levis was 5-16 as a starter for Tennessee his first two years in the NFL, but the Titans drafted Cam Ward in this April’s draft.
Brandon Allen (2-8 as an NFL starter in five years)/Tim Boyle (0-5 in six years) are the Titans’ other QB’s, if they don’t start Ward right away.

— Miami Dolphins’ head coaches, since 2000:
2000-04- Dave Wannstedt 42-31 regular season (1-2 playoffs)
2004- Jim Bates 3-4 as an interim coach
2005-06- Nick Saban 15-17 regular season
2007- Cam Cameron 1-15 regular season

2019-21- Brian Flores 24-25 regular season
2022-present- Mike McDaniel 28-23 regular season (0-2 playoffs)

— Notes for the Houston Texans:
Went 10-7/10-7 in two years under DeMeco Ryans.
Last year, Texans were 7-5 in games decided by 8 or fewer points.
This year, Texans are #18 in $$$ spent on offense (#23 on QBs)
