Detroit Shock -5.5 over Houston Comets ****** very strong play
Shock is the best team in the WNBA.They are defending champs.have a crazy coach in Bill Laimbier.They are 3-0.The best defensive team,one of the best rebounding.Have 4 players scoring in double d's.Ford is the best scorer-rebounder combined.Nolan could be named MVP if the vote was today.Great shooting gd.And Cash the best overall fd She is a 6'1 "greyhound" out there.Braxton is the 6'6 center just getting into shape.Peirson comes off the bench and is the leading scorer.But what they do best is "pass".In the WNBA stats the one that stands out more for me is assits.They have 4 players that are in the top 24 in assits.Nolan is No 1 with 10th,18th, and 24th.They avg 5.7,4.7,3.7, and 3.0.That shows you these ladies are unselfish.
Houston has a new coach,two avg gds ,Swoopes whose out tonite with back problems,and are 0-3 after letting San Antonio beat them at home by 11.Thompson and Snow are Comets best players.But they play inside.Comets have no gds to go up against Shocks Smith and Nolan.Cash,Ford and co are to quick,athletic for Thompson and Snow.Comets have lost all 3 games by more then 10 pts.Shock won 2 of it's 3 by more then 10 pts.
Last yr Shock won by 6 at Houston but Swoopes had 15 or 16 pts.Even though she's not playing tonite she was only avg 5 or 6 pts a game.Seems like Cherlys been playing for ages.
My number on this game are way off. I have Det -10 and the line is -5.5.Hate when the numbers are off by that many.But I think shock win this by double digits.Comets defense will not be able to handle this team.And the way Nolan and cash are playing.They could win this by 15-20 on the road..Strong play..will be back with the other 3 games later.
