Phil -- Opportunity for us.
Lines opened at Oly at SEA +2.5 and IND +3.5
I'll try to explain why Vegas has SEA as the dog.
As you know the line is not a prediction of what will happen but the number that will generate the most action on both sides.
Here's what Joe Public is reading:
- SAC is 6-0 vs SEA all time
- SAC beat SEA 77-71 in Seattle in last months pre-season game
- SAC just took LA to OT and beat NY, two of the top teams in the league
- SEA 1-4 in L5
So it makes sense that with two equally bad team that the home team which has had great success over the other should be favored.
Here's why IMO SEA will cover and probably win SU.
- No Yolando Griffith for SAC, she was the leading scorer and rebounder in that pre-season win
- SEA has Vodichkova who didn't play in that pre-season game
- SAC victory over NY was deceiving, The Liberty were at the end of a tough road trip and were exhausted and showed it
- SAC shot 57% from the field vs SEA in that pre-season game. Without Griffith that won't happen tonite, SAC is tied with SEA for lower FG% in WNBA at 37%
- After getting beat up by LA in their last game, SEA will be ready for some physical play. SEA played with the Storm for a half but then the much deeper LA pulled away as Jackson, Vodichkova and Bird all got into foul trouble
- Lauren Jackson is getting better every game back
