Not much to choose from today. Ace and the Valuist convinced me on this one:
BEST BET: Cleveland -9
SAC is 0-5 SU and ATS on the road. They've lost those five road games by 13,13,9,15 and 26.
Griffith is out for a month, and point guard Penicheiro is still out with a sprained shoulder. She's the spark of the SAC offense, and also the team's leading scorer and rebounder.
Cleveland seems to be a much better team since activating Rushia Brown and Ann Wauters six games ago. Wauters has added 9.5 ppg/4.7 rpg and Brown is averaging 5.2ppg/2.5rpg off the bench.
CLE made a subtle switch in their last game, a blow out over MIA: they switched the positions of Wauters and Chasity Melvin, moving Wauters to C and Melvin to F. This seemed to work quite nicely, Wauters had her best game since returning from playing in France where she had an awesome season. She seems to have adjusted to the more physical play of the WNBA. Also, Jennifer Rizzotti is shooting very well of late.
Both teams played Tuesday night. SAC is coming off a tough 1 point loss to WA in double OT. The starters played 40+ minutes; the team had a chance to win it in OT but blew it. CLE is coming off a blow-out where they were up by 17 at the half. SAC must be a little down following that OT loss at home, while CLE should be coming into this game more rested.
