Does anyone know for sure whether Garret Wolfe for NIU and Jamario Thomas for NT will be their respective teams starters at RB. I am in a fantasy league and would pick them early if I new for certain that this was the case. They each have strong competition but they gained the starting roles last year due to injury. Thanks alot for you guys help.

Both backs should get the bulk of carries for their respective teams, but both have guys that are outstanding breathing down their necks. At NIU, A.J. Harris is a bigger back than Wolfe and had a nice season last year when Wolfe was out and I would look for NIU to be a huge rushing team this year with limited experience returning at QB. I would think that Cobbs would bethe one whom will get less carries in comparison to Wolfe because his backup Thomas is too good to not get some touches during the game. Keep in mind that Cobbs had knee surgery so you never know exactly how that knee is going to hold up when he starts to take hits or is he will be a little gun shy.

to answer your question, yes wolfe will be the starter for northern illinois at tailback. but harris is certainly going to get his carries.

that being said, i wouldnt think twice about drafting wolfe.

keep in mind, northern illinois runs the football more than any team in the mac, and (aside from your pure option teams like navy and air force), they also run it as much as anyone in the nation. youre not talking about dividing up 30-35 carries between two guys. theres games where niu runs the ball 50-55 times, so there are plenty of carries to go around.

with their quarterback position unsettled, theyre likely to pound the ball even more.

their coaching staff is also talking about keeping wolfe on the field as a slot receiver at times when harris is in the backfield, so fantasy-wise, you can still get some receptions from wolfe as well.

THomas...Cobbs will be like another Frank Gore, a star RB who takes a hard fall and has a hard time getting his confidence back to the point of where he is a solid runner...he will be used sparringly IMO, Thomas is a stud
